Right so, I've been wondering this for a while. I've been following The Streets since Original Pirate Material, and Skinner's finally coming to Colorado to do a show. (It's on my girlfriend's birthday, but I'm going anyway.)

I'm just curious as to how popular he is over in the UK. I've not talked to a single person here that's ever even heard of him. But on the new album, he's talking about being in all the tabloids and such. Seems like he's a lot more famous than I'd imagined.

Anyway, the new album's amazing. And I'd always sworn that there could never be a good song or album about the price of fame. He completely destroyed my theory. I think it's 'cause he's still sticking to just talking about the way his life really is. Now he's just incorporating the famous bit, 'cause that's a big part of his life. But as far as I'm concerned, he's never gonna outdo Original Pirate Material.

So's he really all that big over there? Anyone else heard him?

The best will always be their first release 'Fit But You Know It'. Fantastic!

I saw one of their live shows in Belgium. It sucked major ass.
Sure, the music was kinda good, but he was hungover or something, and just went and lied down whilst the other guy had to cover for him.
Pretty funny, I went to the Dizzee Rascal stage after The Streets (festival), and I saw Mike Skinner just sitting next to me & a friend, waiting for the concert to begin.

Never been to UK but my friend who lives there says he stops in at this pub he works at and eats a roast beef sandwich every now and then. But nothing more about him or his popularity, only that he know who he was. I don't really care for The Streets.

I'm a big fan of The Streets, first heard it a couple of years ago. In some music magazine here (in the States) they said he (Mike Skinner) is one of the best song writers of all time. He was like top 3 with the Beattles and somebody else. I like them and all but I don't know if I'd say all that, just thought it would be good to show that he is getting some good press in the states, even if he isn't all that well known yet.

at first i said i wouldn't judge him cause he's obviously not the kind of music i'm familiar with, but if rap is what he's attempting, then yeah he does a terrible job.
