"It Ain't Me Babe" was created by Bob Dylan in 1963 but apparently got more attention when Johnny Cash recorded the song with June Carter.

The Turtles than made their own version of it which also became a hit, they even named one of their albums after this song.

Than in 2005 the movie Walk the Line came out with Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon singing the song, in the Johnny Cash biography.

I'm not much into music history and I could never just start naming out bands and each band members like most of you guys on this forum, I'm no music expert in other words :P

But I like this song, I'm just curious which version you guys like the most. Or if anyone just plain hates any of these versions and the song altogether.

I think this is all the versions, I put in others just in case.

I personally like The Turtles version the best.

Edit: Goofed up on the thread title and poll, suppose to be "It Ain't Me Babe" :P

Thanks for those links, I fucking love his solo version, but I need to hear these others.

Great thread.

edit: I prefer the solo. I listened to the Turtle's one and the Joplin one, both great. But Dylan is hard to top on his own. I would like to hear a version with Dylan and The Dead.

Ah, i searched pretty extensively trying to find all the versions, at least the big named stars singing it. Im not really sure who The Dead are but I just did a BearShare search, are they called The Grateful Dead? They have a song titled "Stuck in the middle with you" with Bob Dylan.

Anyhow Im not finding anything else but I'd love to hear another version out there tho.

Yes I'm talking about The Grateful Dead, they played a lot with Dylan.
