It looks AMAZING. But unfortunately, I won't be buying a PS3 untill a price drop.
I'm a poor person :(
Anyway, looks awesome.

Holy shit it looks amazing.. I personally think PS3 will be better than the 360.
But I don't want a console war, so keep it at CoD 3 lol.

That's why I said in my opinion I think it will be better. I didn't say I knew it would. Jesus.
But keep it at CoD3
It looks pretty sweet for next gen consoles.

Looks amazing. I just hope they make a decent game out of it. I got extremely bored with CoD2 (except for the graphics).

As much as I like the Playstation, it's just a waste of money. It just looks like another fuckin' video game to me.

Sure, it looks smoother and whatnot, but it certainly isn't wirth shelling out god knows how much money for.
I wouldn't be spending $600-800 dollars for better 'graphics'.

Im not "impressed" as with everyone else. It seems they are just showing the CG's that they show on tv all the time whenever a new call of duty came out. Remember when Big Red One came out and they showed that same CG on every commercial?
As i said before, i must have missed something, im not really impressed.

Hehe.. northing is up my friend.
Anyways it seems as if it's just going to improve more on graphics, and gameplay. It'll probably run a lot smoother, and will have more features. Probably a better story line and maps.
So is Cod 3 on of those new chemically enhanced fish?

It is. It's supposed to be just a console game. The next Call of Duty on PC is supposed to be a modern warfare type game, but with call of duty 2 graphics. It will be like Big Red One all over again.
And, since no one really seems up to date on the war between the consoles, there really is no difference between the PS3 and Xbox360, accept whose name is what peice of silicon. The specs between the two are exactly the same, the acception being the Blu-Ray tech on the PS3. With the high costs of the Cell processor and the constant delays of Blu-Ray, don't expect to be able to buy a PS3 for any less than $750 at release, and that's after a huge loss of profits on Sonys end. But I don't think Sony will really suffer as there will always be people out there that are more than willing to believe that the PS3 is that much better just because Sony says so.

It should be on PC too, all 1st person should be on it.
But I have a question..
What happened to that guy he was pushing in the end? /5 year old voice

I can already say it probably wont look like that, they always made things like those for commercials and it never looked that good when you even played. I think they made too many WW2 games anyway.

I'd rather spend my money on a tank of gas, a nice dinner, a bottle of whiskey, and a box of condoms.

Just out of curiosity, is anyone planning on buying a ps3 when it first comes out, when it's like $600 or whatever. So far everyone I know says they'll get one after the price drops but that they're not going to spend a bajillion dollars on one.

First of all its on both systems, and that isnt even gameplay. So it doesnt matter what it looks like in that video, because thats not what it will look like when you play it.

All right, well, the PS3s GPU is being built from the same GPU I have in my PC right now. The only difference being that my GPU has more than 2x the memory bandwidth. Even with all that bandwidth, it's still not being used to its full potential because of a lack of bandwidth. The PS3, having less than half the memory bandwidth my GPU does, will actually be closer in performance to the 7600gt with a couple extra pixel shaders, since those don't use that much bandwidth anyway.
The Xbox360s Xenos r500 ATI GPU has 48 pipelines and all that jazz, but because it has the same memory bandwidth as the PS3, it will be bottlenecked to the same point. The Xbox360s GPU will be faster, because it has more pixel shaders and 10MB of cache dedicated to AA that the PS3 G71 has to use ROPs(and more bandwidth) for. The performance on the Xenos r500 will be close to the x1800gto.
The CPU on the PS3 has one core with 8 SPEs, but because of the way it was designed, it can only use 7 SPEs to handle the threads as one SPE will be left to handle redundancies and the core will be dividing up the work between the SPEs. Having 7 SPEs is no where near as powerful as having 7 cores, it's actually closer in performance to having 3 cores that can handle 2 threads each, like the Xenon in the Xbox360. Both are designed differently, but will perform the same.
Both systems also have 512MB of RAM. The PS3 has 256MB of system RAM using the Blu-Ray discs high memory capacity and memory transfer to to hold anything that won't fit into the system RAM. It also has 256MB of RAM for the GPU. The Xbox360 has 512MB of RAM shared between the GPU and CPU. Both will have between 22 and 25GBps bandwidth for the processors and GPUs in both systems.

ok, well the fact that the Cell proccessor has the 7 cores, means it can run the full PhysX software, where as xbox360 cant.
i see that as a difference

Not only is the software unmatched in feature functionality, stability , performance and robustness, it's also supported by all the major developer tools and enables straightforward cross-platform support for Microsoft Xbox360 and Sony Playstaton 3.

What does the 10MB of embedded ram do for the GPU? I never figured that out

It only exists to handle the 2x AA that Xbox360 uses. It does a pretty good job, since it can handle it independantly all the way up to 1080i resolution.
AA is known as Anti-Aliasing and it smooths the edges around 3D objects so that they look more like a real image and less like something that was drawn using squares.

i post this already in the video forums, plus it's for 360 and ps3,
THIS ISN'T IN GAME OR IN ENGINE.
IT'S CALLED "CG"
you have to be absolutely retarded to not know that's CG, you see when it's in game there are "animations", not here.

the cell doesn't have 7 CORES. it has 7 SPE's, which is different as the poster before said it equals out to about 3 cores with two threads. the PhysX software is just that...software, just like Havoc, because there is no physics card in the PS3, just like the 360 the physics will be run off the CPU. i have a 3.4 Ghz and it has no problem with physics, if you have a weak CPU then the physics card is for you, if you have a strong CPU especially an AMD, then don't buy it.

your proccessor cant not handle the physics that physX produces.
sure you can drop a few boxes here and there, however when you say get like 1000 boxes and start throwing them around, theeeeen your frame rate will drop.
in response to before
Although the PhysX libraries accelerate a host of technologies, from physical object interactions to fluid-based particle effects like water and smoke, only the PlayStation 3 and a PhysX PC will have the horsepower to process all of the technology's features, Ageia executives said. The Xbox 360 will not be able to process the fluid-based technology, because of the limitations of its architecture.

Too bad the PS3 is going to cost a minimum of $499. $599 for the 60GB HDD version. Damn, at some point you just have to say "Ya, this platform is just too expensive for the mainstream consumer".
I thought the 360 was expensive. PS3, the cheapest version, is $100 more than the most expensive 360.

The trailer also has it listed for the Nintendo Wii. With the Wii's controller and the light gun shell addon (http://revolution.ign.com/articles/707/707077p1.html) I think it will be awesome.

Sweet trailer. I'm surprised it's being released only a year after the other one. I only imagined sports franchises to do that.
Will definitely get it for Xbox 360.
