I don't get it...all of these american companies now think FWD is the way of the future...

I saw this before, but I didn't realize it was FWD. The original Rampage from the 80's was FWD and based of a minivan platform, so is this concept. It is pretty interesting, but I doubt it will ever go into production though.

At first glance I thought it kind of resembled the Honda Ridgeline. Visibility doesn't look like it'll be too good either. But then there's something about it that doesn't make me say it looks like shit.

I hope to everything good in the world that, that thing doesnt go to production. If it does it will be about as usefull as the Ridgeline. A 5.7 litre Hemi in a truck with Front wheel drive. Fwd can be usefull in some situations but i think Dodge is just trying to be "different" by over designing this "truck".

Alot of cars are FWD... Not to mention we have been making FWD card for decades. The original Dodge Rampage was FWD, back in the 80's. It was also a 4 cylinder, and it wasn't based off a minivan platform, It was more like an El Camino. Now they are just copying the Ridgeline, Avalance, and the Escalade EXT. But based on looks, its only copying the Ridgeline.

I forgot about that, they were based on the Omni. A friend had a Rampage and I remember it sharing quite a few parts with the Caravans. I guess at that time most Mopars shared a lot of parts, even across platforms. All I remember is a modified turbo 2.2 would make that little fucker scoot, and suprise a lot of unsuspecting witnesses.

What the fuck is what the FWD? The truck looks good, but I can't remember any kind of well known pick up truck being FWD! I'm sure they will end up changing that if they ever do make this model.
I will say that the rear sliding doors and the ramp-like tailgate is a plus for the truck. FWD BLOWS! Its a fucking truck. It should be AWD or RWD at the least!

Oh god. Dodge is bringing back the Rampage. There's one parked across the street from me. It's a bondo-mobile. That is one vehicle the world could do without.
They've always been front wheel drive. It was not really a "truck" per se before. It was like a mini el camino or Ranchero. And even those were small for "trucks" so the rampage was just a joke.

Damn affordable, fuel efficient piece of shit.
Back to the Rampage. It has that disgusting concept futuristic look to it that I hate. The fact that it is a FWD is strange. :confuzed:

Hi everyone. First post.
Anyways, I like to refer to the Rampage concept as a "minvan-crossover". If it does go into production, it will essentially be what the PT Cruiser is: A differently styled minivan.

I don't like the Honda Ridgeline at all...but I think this Dodge is pretty sweet. I like the sliding doors. I do agree with the rest of you though, it should be RWD or preferably AWD. I really like the how the center console curves around.

While I too don't like the idea of FWD, some of the features are pretty interesting. I like how the tail gate turns into a ramp...that would make moving day a lot nicer.
5.7 liter HEMI engine.
Yeah no thanks
