I reported him earlier today when he made 8 threads in a half hour time span. They each had the title of a band and the post content was something along the lines of "Do you like them?".

We're not rock/metal elitists. Most of us are open to rap and hip hop.
I like some Outkast, Eminem, Jurassic 5, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, 2Pac and Aesop Rock.

We don't discuss the same thing over and over again. Sometimes someone will post a thread on something that has already been posted. That is simply forum dynamics and that can occur with any thread (even a hip hop thread).

I'm happy you weren't permanently banned because I like your posts and I think you contribute to the music section well - not to mention, you listen to a wide range of music. With regards 'bannable offence' the precise reason provided was 'lame threads'...if only the moderators had your command of formal lexis. Indeed, they're very selective about the rules they enforce in my opinion. Yeah, the fields.

Seeing as I'm not a moderator, I wasn't sure of their reason. I assumed it was because you created so many threads at once - I believe that Masterpiece was banned for creating only 1 or 2 a day in E/N, rather than 10 at once.

But seeing as the reason is 'lame threads', I guess that isn't the case.

We only had all those GnR threads because of Dark_Future who pissed off everyone regardless of race or music preference. But action was taken with him. Firstly, all of his threads were compressed into one thread. And I think he's banned now as well, but I'm not too sure to be honest.
