Gah! I want to sell my 2001 GMC Jimmy, it sucks up so much gas, 18MPG is horrible for a 17 year old with gas prices these days. However, I really want something better on gas but will also suck you back in your seat yet it doesn't seem to exist, does anyone have any ideas? I intend on selling my car and using that money towards another with maybe a grand or so much (so all in all maybe $6,400.00 to spend). I thought about an AWD Turbo Eclipse(though they only get like 20MPG anyway), but it seems like something a pussy would drive, I believe I have that thought pattern because my girlfriend has an Eclipse spyder. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas that would be great!

For economy and performance you're ideally going to want something F/I so you can drive on or off boost.
My car can go anywhere from high 30's to sub 20's depending on how I drive it.

Around 28 mpg with normal highway driving, 17 around town, personal experience. (I drive an ls1)

If you drive any car like an asshole your mileage drops dramatically.

GSX's are the most manly possible version of a chick's car. But I still love em.

If you're lookin at the GSX's but think they're too girly, look at the Dodge Stealth RT Turbo. AWD V6 Twin Turbo. They're usually a little more expensive than what you're looking for, but you might luck out. And they're plenty quick for a 17yo in stock form, they run mid-high 13's 1/4 miles. And they're just about as reliable as GSX's are, and get around 24mpg highway.

LS1 Camaro/Trans Ams are your best bet if you find one that cheap. They can run 12 flat with only $600 worth of mods, they put you in your seat, they have a nice sound, and they're good on gas for the most part.

17-20 city. 25-30 highway. But they run on premium and are Aaron Buckleys in winter.
