Yes. they have allot of electrical problems. But i've seen plenty of old bimmers tank over 250,000 miles without any major problems.
I guess it's either a hit or miss

Funny this should come up, One of parents just got a 1989 320i in place of previous car. Though I don't quite know where I am going with this statement, as it's not like I can give you much information about them.

What's up with all the random comments?? lol
Pat is right about the electrical problems, that is the most notorious of the problems from the E36's. I usually notice that the E30's generally have less problems than the E36, but the E36 has much more support.

I know from experience, I have one. A 633 csi, it does have electrical problems (the computer isn't working right but I might be able to fix it) and I am going to sell it but I wont really get much out of it.

In Oz parts are expensive, but I guess if you do get a nice beemer you can afford the parts to go with it. Always remember if you buy a car have like an extra grand or 2 for parts in the near future and if not use it to mod the car

Funny because i considered buying a bimmer in that year range, and most of them i could find had at least 210,000 miles. The rest were in the 170-190 range.
