Ok, I just went down and my Mom was babbling about insurance going up.

I though... what the hell? I went outside and the back bumper of our Expedition was slightly banged up, still on, just slightly damaged. Some dumb ass in an Audi rear ended her and she was at fault, and admitted it infront of a cop. Her hood was evidentally fucked up.

I guess I dont give American cars enough credit. :)

Crumple zones my friend. :rollseyes

It's not like you're going to reverse at someone going 50mph, and if you do, you're back is already against a nice padded seat...

The person driving was looking for a drink that she dropped. It wasn't even her car, it wasn't in her name that is.

2006 Audi being leased. It wasn't a serious collision, her airbags didnt go off.
The only thing I think that would need to be done would be some the bending of metal back into place.

Again it's the fault of hippies. There was a thing on the radio about this very subject, that older cars had "bumpers" that did just that, and could be knocked about a bit without being written off. Manufacturers over here just aren't allowed to anymore. Not only do they get stung for high speed crash protection with crumple zones, but car vs pedestrian protection with round absorbing surfaces etc. Bull bars are illegal here.

I would imagine that anybody dumb enough to purchase a Ford would also not be bright enough to be a good driver. Hence the insurance hikes.

Audi drivers, on the other hand, are smart.

Why was she at fault? She was the one that got rear ended.

Can you give some more details to the accident?
