So here these dirty Mexicans are invading our country in droves with their sleazy "president," Vicente Fox, telling them to go while Mexico is simultaneously preventing immigrants (legal or otherwise) from getting jobs.

Disgusting.

P.S. - I'm beginning to lighten up to Shade's proposal now....

Bloody Mexicans .. I have nothing more to say ...

lol.

Perhaps there are less job opportunities in Mexico, explaining illegal immigrants to the States, and keeping jobs for themselves in their own country. How many people go to Mexico to look for jobs anyway?

Still, it's not good to be stinking hypocrites.

whocares. who is a Mexican, said there are plenty of jobs and a shortage of workers in Mexico, and that most illegals coming to the US are doing so as a get-rich-quick scheme and not poor to to begin with.

I really don't know. I do think that perhaps a percentage of illegals are just oportunists...

Extreme poverty in Mexico has decreased, though (in rural areas). Of course, the government tries to pass this as an achievement of theirs, sure thing, but the money illegals send to their families also contributed (perhaps, quite a lot?).

“The reduction of extreme poverty at the rural and national levels between 2000 and 2002 is indeed statistically significant,” said Michael Walton, the World Bank's Regional Advisor for Poverty Reduction and Human Development. “Some of the factors contributing to the reduction were the growth in international remittances for the extreme poor in rural areas and the increase in government transfers targeted to the extreme poor through Oportunidades,” added Walton, the co-author of the study.

Yeah, because they didn't have to a do thing to get that money? Because, you know, the people who hire them don't make them work...

Apparently, a large proportion of the Mexicans in the Twin Cities come from one small area of Mexico, so that over the years a kind of relationship has built up between that region and this one.

And the effects are visible to visitors there from here - including a new medical clinic bought mostly with money repatriated from Minnesota, some new houses, etc. The money shows, even to the casual eye on the street.

NAFTA lowered Mexican wages compared with US wages, and simultaneously brought larger numbers of Mexicans to border towns from rural areas where farming no longer supported them. So - - -

Mexico has been the benificiary of illegal alien's money from the US for decades.

The only gleem of hope in the whole situation is Mexico's view on illegals, themselves...They aren't as receptive to it as we are.

That doesn't keep extremists like Al-Qaeda from sneaking in to California, via Mexico, however.

Build a wall. Keep the illegals out. When Mexicans realize their government is corrupt, let them deal with it. A physical border will only benefit both our countries.

yeeaaaaaahhhhhhhh! in downtown hayward, california, there are so many illegals there. we should build a wall with cannons in it, and launch illegals' heads on to the oncoming illegals. that should lower the amount of illegals comin' into the US of A. Defend our country!
