Am I the only one who found this game an insult to Call of Duty (one of best fps for its gen)?

- The entire game felt a little to much like COD1
- The Missions were a bit repetative
- The enviroment interaction sucked, well it didnt actually excist.
- No rag-doll? The developers gave some lame ass excuse saying it would be silly ... thats the fucking point ...
- Online, is full of n00bs, teamkillers and hackors.

This game is a perfect example of when good graphics are bad, so picture this. You walk into a room, its some kitchen with a table, cooker and dresser. theres pans and shit all over the wall and plates set out on the table. It looks really good. Awsome right? So i load up my thomson and blast away BAMBAMBAMBAMBAM, the smoke clears ... the kitchen is still there ... nothing has happend .... the plates are still there .... theres not even any bullet marks .... now that sucks.

anyone else get what im on about?

Seems to me you worry way too much about how a game mimics real life. If it doesn't mimic it to your standards, it's not worth it. Kind of sad really. Good thing you are young and didn't grow up during the 8bit and prior generations. You wouldn't have liked any game that came out before Playstation.

Well, all in all, a game is simply for entertainment purposes. If you don't like it, don't play it.

I thought it was okay, but a bit repetitive like you said. I still love the assault on hill 400.

.... i said call of duty 2 was a dissapointment, not 'oh god please stop them making me play it'

Besides the fact you cant trash anything completely takes away a massive part of the enjoyment of the game.

Well I like the game. I play on the 360 and when Im playing online I tend to want to kill people, not kitchens. But if killing kitchens is your thing then CoD2 is probably not for you. The LIVE online is pretty fun and I have played it for months without worry of to many noobs(cant kill em all) not many teamkillers and no haXX0rz since the last patch. Sorry you can't enjoy it.

I dunno, i liked COD2. It may have a been a bit repatative, but still a good game. I still loved that tank charge level in North Africa :D

I thought CoD2 was great. The single player was fun for me to go through, and online is a blast. Maybe what you don't understand is that CoD1 was, and probably still is a very competitive game... so CoD2, was made to be similar in structure, while still adding some new elements. Of course CoD2 is going to be like the original...just like Battlefield1942/2, Quakes2-4, most of the Unreal Tournaments, CS1.6/Source...etc. Competitive players want some newer elements here and there, and some nicer graphics, but still want to be familiar with the game play. So they didn't add rag-doll physics and interactive environments...who really cares about that?

I hate when people bitch about a good game because they didn't add non-important extras like that...its fucking retarded. It's not like BF2...where the whole game is a big huge glitch when it first came out. CoD 2 was pretty polished when it was released. Face it, the game looks good, the hitboxes work, they added some new elements to gameplay, and it still has all the things that made CoD1 great...quit bitching.

Oh, and your "too many n00bs, too many TKers and hackers" point is pretty much invalid. Go play 99% of the online games out there, and you find that shit...thats online gaming for you.

No, I don't agree with you there.

Sure, every game has the n00bs and dumbasses, but CoD2 has a massive amount of hackers/cheaters.

You obviously don't play many online games then, because you have cheating in almost every major online game...CoD2 is not special. And also, you can't blame CoD2 for the cheaters, blame Punkbuster.

In CS, both 1.6 and source...you have plenty of cheaters. Any game that uses Punkbuster (CoD1/2, America's Army...etc), you have plenty of cheaters. Quake 4, Unreal tournament...again, plenty of cheaters. And this is JUST the FPS catergory.

Lets not forget the RTS genre (Starcraft, WC3, C&C, Rome Total War) thats riddled with cheating...or even the RPG genre, with duping of uber items, or experience hacking.

Like I said, that is online gaming for you...there always has been, and probably always will be cheating in some form or another...just like IN ANY GAME EVER. Boardgame, sports, and videogames...all have their share of cheaters. There are just those assholes out there who will always want to achieve that competitive edge in an unfair way. Such is life.

I've seen one online game that has almost no cheating, and that is Guildwars...and that's simply because ANet keeps that shit on lockdown.

I know Liberator plays Tactical Shooters like I do and I can say this without fear of flaming, Rainbow Six 3 and Ghost Recon user's base is so mature that cheating does not exist.

I played CoD1 religiously on the PC. Now I play CoD2 religiously on the 360. I think it's brilliant.

Who cares if you can't write your name in the wall in bullets?

There is the problem right there. You play shitty games. CoD2 is fun, I loved the single player, but the weapons online are so... easy to use, its ridiculous.

I do agree there. The community pretty much governs itself with those titles. It is very nice to see the community having so much say.

wooo again i never said it was a bad game, i would give it about a 7 out of 10. Not a 2 out of 10.

Secondly games like counter-strike have much much much more advanced ways of protecting from hackers and tkers.

Whoever Cheats in Frag Fests (ut2004, quake) are fucking dipshits, besides never ever encountered a hacker in ut2004.

All im saying with this thread is that that Activision could have done a lot fucking more with this game, but they didnt and that was lame.

Ah yes...thank you for informing me that I play shitty games, therefore my opinion must be invalid. You must be some kind of retard or something...because I don't recall saying that those are the only games I play, or even that I play all of them. I do play some of those, which by the way Mr.Shit-Don't-Stink, aren't really that shitty, and are quite enjoyable to play. Next time, I'll put "I PLAY THIS" in big, bold lettering for you, because I wouldn't want to confuse your tiny brain.

The whole point of my post was to explain, that cheating is not limited to CoD2. You would rather tell me I play shitty games so you can look cool online, instead of just agreeing with a damn good point. I mean, you don't have to agree...but then that makes you ignorant because what I said is pretty obvious to anyone with even a slight amount of online gaming experience.

Why don't you enlighten me on all the fabulous cheat-free games you play. Oh, thats right...those only exist in the fantasy world you live in.

Once again, cheating, in some form or another...whether it be wallhacks, aimbot, map hacks, radar, bright colored player models, exp hacking, glitch abusing, WHATEVER...exists in any online game you play, PERIOD. Unless of course the game is so fucking obscure, who the fuck would bother? Therefore, complaining about a game that has cheaters, is fucking stupid, and you should shut your stupid mouth.

EDIT: I failed to notice someone saying that UT2004, Ghost Recon, and Rainbow Six 3...don't have any cheaters. Well, perhaps you don't see many cheaters anymore, because those games aren't very popular nowadays like they used to be...however, to think that cheaters simply don't exist in those communities is pretty ignorant. Game popularity determines the number of cheaters. Back in the day when Rainbow Six 3 was a fairly popular game, it had its fair share of cheaters...now that its dying community...not so many anymore.

of course every game has cheaters, however some games contain a fuck load more than others, and COD2 is atm one of the highest.

I've been playing CoD2 for like 2 months and never come across one cheat. I did in the first CoD though. Is it because I play on the 360 instead of the PC?

It may be. The PC version has a ton of cheaters.

united offensive(expansion for cod1) was my favourite multiplayer game ive ever played, so i was dissapointed when i discovered much of it had been lost in the new cod2 multiplayer. also i did notice singleplayer was a lot like cod1, but what they seemed to do was make a lot more large scale battles that were fun in the first one, so even though it was similar to cod1, i still liked it because it improved on it. i cant wait for a cod2 expansion, hopefully vehicles will be back.

Ok, so on one hand you cry about the haXXorz and on the other you don't have your precious mouse. Seriously, you have to take the good with the bad. If the cheaters are pretty much non-existent on 360 Im betting you would forget about your precious mouse. I have not seen any cheats since the last patch for CoD2 on live and that was more than a month ago. And my controller while not uber precise does get the job done. I even have time to say "boom headshot" before moving on to the next victim.:D
