Myst

Anyone else play this? I got it when it first came out back in the early 90s and found it ridiculously hard. I think I was 14 when it first came out and I wracked my brain for weeks trying to figure out the puzzles. I recently got the 10th Anniversary DVD edition which has Myst, Riven and Exile on it. I have played the first two but never played Exile.

Anyway, I played back through Myst the other day and found it still quite enjoyable. The puzzles weren't as difficult as I remembered them being, and I beat it pretty quickly.

Now I'm playing Riven, and it is much more difficult. I also got this when it was originally released and had a very hard time with it. I've been playing it most of the evening and I think I'm getting close to finishing it.

Now I'm looking forward to playing Exile, a game in the Myst series that I have never played. Has anyone else played it? Is it a good game?

I particularly like the first Myst, just because I had never played anything like it. There have been many games since then that have tried to mimick what Myst had, but none have lived up to it in my opinion.

Loved Myst and Riven. I haven't played either for years. Sounds like I need to get that dvd collection.

I got Myst and Riven when they came out as well.

I think I cheated my way through both of them. :redface:

But they are both excellent games.

I haven't played the new one.

Yea the story i dont really get much either...

but the game is awesome, i remember playing Myst as a young lad, there were some ridiculously hard puzzles on there, one of my favourites was the one on the rocket where you needed to match the notes of the keyboard with those that you had written down and then do the same sequence of notes to power up the rocket ship.

Riven was even harder, i cheated my way through most of them and when i did i was like "jesus fuck i would have NEVER figured that out in a million years!"

I have Myst III: Exile as well, but i havent played it for a long time, that was a sweet game too though, i should pick it up again sometime...
