beat a game JUST for the sake of beating it?

I will sometimes find myself doing this...with Oblivion i got bored of it and just kept playing till i beat it. Same goes with alot of games on my emulators. Have you ever played a game you almost finished and didnt want to play it anymore and did justfor the bastardous thing to be done with?

Sad to say, Metroid Prime,...I mean I havnt even beaten it..because I would get radically bored every 15 minutes I played....but I'm eventually getting to it..i have to beat it because I bought it.

BTW my favorite video game is super metroid, so i feel obligated to finish prime...although it tisnt difficult..just boring.

Yoshi's Story (I think that's what it was called). It was boring as hell but I rented it so I felt like i should have to beat it. Also some Kirby game for N64 was the same way.

Starcraft, I neglected to play the story simply because I felt that playing online would teach me more. After I got the hang of it I tried out the story mode, wasn't half bad.

Zelda: Wind Waker.

I love the Zelda games and ive beaten all of em but this one. I bought it when it came out, got to the part where you collect triforce pieces, and i got bored and i stopped playing.

So then i started a new game like 5 months later...exact same thing happened :uhoh:

So now i think i might start a new game in the future to finally beat the damn thing haha.

I tried my damndest with FFVIII, but just couldn't be arsed in the end. There was a period a few years ago where every week or so I'd try the last level of Driver a few times, until I fluked it one day, now I don't bother. Oh and getting all the movies and secrets on THPS games even though you know none of them will match Rodney Mullen's. Doing the same levels over and over with all the scaters gets boring as fuck... but you have to see those last scraps of content.

Damn, those words actually shocked me coming from your mouth. But it's cool if you thought the game was boring.

Ever played Prime 2? You will find more challenges than the first Prime.

Nah, I want to finish prime first you know, but generally FPS type games bore me, especially in single player mode.

Another Game is Bomberman Jetters, bought it for the multiplayer, but boredum one night left me playing through the story mode just because, It's a reward to beat a game you can't stand...it just is.

back in the ps1 days i would buy my final fantasy games used. i bought ff 7 to ff9. i havent beaten any of em because i got tired of final fantasy 7 and kept on trying to get back into it but i forgot the story which made it harder to enjoy. ff8 my 2nd disc was too fucked up to get past a cutscene. ff9 was too boring... final fantasy tactics was fun but i just stopped playing. ff10 is the only ff ive beaten. i even have 10-2 but i got tired of that pretty quick. im gonna try to beat all these games when i dont get a new game for a while. the only games ive beaten is metal gear solid 1 and 2. ff10, kingdom hearts, god of war, yoshis story, Lord of the rings. super mario advance i collected all the yoshi coins and everything i was soo proud of myself when i beat that and sims... lol.

I was going to say that game. Its fun/was fun but after a while it just got so damn boring and uninteresting. I loved the other games but just couldnt finish after about 8hrs (i think)

The thing I didn't like about LoZ WW was the whole: You have to keep changing the wind direction to travel.

You don't. You could always tack into the wind.

Much faster if you change the wind.

Much faster if you change the wind.

Indeed, but you never *have* to change the wind, and to avoid tacking you only need to change the wind every now and then.
