I really want one, but dont want to overpay for one on ebay. I'll just wait I guess till june 11th. I know there are plenty of people that have one, so tell me how you like it!
By the way I work at target and Im not going to try to put it out so I can buy it. I might get in trouble if I do that. Although the only street dates we ever deal with are movies, music, and books.

It's the exact same as a regular DS, the only difference is cosmetic. If you don't already have a DS, then go for it. If you already have one... well... you already have one.
DS Lite it worth is, it's smoother, smaller, fits better in my hand, and battery life is good.
* Weight: 218g (21% lighter than the original DS).
* Dimensions: 133 mm × 73.9 mm × 21.5 mm (vs 148.7 mm × 84.7 mm × 28.9 mm - 42% less volume).
* Larger stylus; easier to hold. (Stylus Dimensions: Length 87.5 mm × 4.9 mm vs 75.0 mm × 4.0 mm of the original DS)
* D-pad reduced to 18.6 mm across (16% smaller), A/B/X/Y buttons retain same dimensions.
* Four levels of brightness, all of which are brighter than the original DS (it is also the brightest screen ever on a portable gaming system).
* Battery life: 15-19 hours on the lowest brightness setting, 5-8 hours on the highest.
* Retains the Game Boy Advance game connector ("Slot 2"), otherwise known as the Expansion Port. However, due to the reduced size, GBA cartridges stick out 1 cm from the front. To keep a seamless surface, a hollow cartridge to fill the port is included.
* The DS Lite mimics some of the design features of the Nintendo Wii: D-Pad with lines (also shared by the Game Boy micro), Century Gothic font face on buttons, and shiny surface texture.
* The Nintendo DS is region free and can play games from any region. However, some wireless multiplayer games may not play with games from other regions. For example, a copy of Nintendogs from the USA will not connect with a copy of Nintendogs from Japan.
* Four colors: Ice Blue, Enamel Navy, Polar White (Crystal White in Japan)and Black (see Colors below).
* Features a much sturdier hinge than the previous model, which was somewhat fragile.
* A much more durable, scratch resistant touch screen.
* Each screen is 3", the same as the original Nintendo DS.
* Able to convert Nintendo WiFi Friend Codes from your old Nintendo DS to your DS Lite.

DS lite screens will be 10X more brighter than the regular DS. That is the main factor.

Those 3 video reviews should answer all your questions, don't worry, they are not long at all. Its just in 3 links because the first was initial review, 2nd was a review again addressing questions from fans, and same with 3rd. These videos are also hilarious the way he compares.
I was alittle cautious at first now im sold.

If anything, I wish mine was bigger lol. I get cramps in the middle of my hands from playing Mario Kart because the thing is already too small for me. I do like the brighter screen though my DS is already plenty bright. It's nothing amazing like the upgrade from GBA to GBA SP.

I have a regular DS, and I'm not wasting my money on a DS lite, because it plays the same games. I tried out the DS Lite and I thought it sucked. It's really small and annoying on the eyes. I don't even care if the DS lite has a brighter screen, my DS is bright enough. I like the regular DS better... that's just my opinion.

I just went and bought one. I also bought New Super Mario Brothers and BrainAge. The battery is charging right now so I haven't played it yet, but I'll give a review later. I never had an original DS so I don't really have anything to compare it to.

I've had absolutely no problems with the hinge whatsoever.
Still, the Lite does look pretty cool. Might pick it up when it gets REALLY cheap or when/if my current DS dies.

I've been playing this thing for two hours straight. It is so fun. Some people might not like the 'gimmick' aspect of the stylus, but I think it brings more elements into the game. The screen looks great, the design is very nice too. I think it was well worth the price.

The screen looks miniscule compared to the PSP's.

I got one recently. It is really sweet. The screen is so bright it's ridiculous. It looks sleeker and for some reason plays better too.

Not sure if you know, but you can play it while it's plugged in and charging.

Doesn't it hurt your eyes?

No, not at all. There are four different brightness settings so you can adjust it down if it bothers you. As long as you aren't playing in the dark with it on the brightest setting about three inches from your face then you're fine.

I still don't like the DS because I cannot play Gameboy color games on it. Only GBA and DS games.

I'll probably get one seeing as how I never got around to getting a GBA, and I want to play those games. And some DS games look pretty good.

I was thinkin of buying a DS but I got a PSP instead since I saw an ad selling an almost unused PSP with cradle for $150 Canadian. In the end, i'm glad I did because it's so much easier to run homebrew on this thing. (By the way I just baught it to get me through some long plane trips this vacation and wanted ltos of free games)

The DS Lite is just a superior system.
People bitch and put it down because:
1. They don't have it.
2. Their parents won't buy it for them, or they can't afford it themselves.
It's also bullshit when you compare the DS Lite upgrade to the Gameboy Advanced SP upgrade.
They are COMPLETLEY different.
Gamebody Advance SP completley changed it's shape, became much more portable, got a brighter light, but i do admit the small size did cause some people hand cramps.
The DS Lite got a brighter screen (enhancing the graphics to allow you to see the game in it's fill vivid beauty), a thinner sleeker design, it didn't really change it length or width, just thickness.
(which is why "OMG I HAVE BIG HANDS" complaint is bullshit, you just fucked up and you're stuck with an original DS)
Plus it has a bigger stylus, and it looks a hell of a lot better than it's predecessor.
The DS Lite is just a better system, everyone enjoys their games more once they compare the systems.
People just hate, because they don't have it.
(i didn't buy a Nintendo DS until they came out with the Lite, all because i hated how badly they designed the first DS)
