so i go to plug the cable into my guitar, but i notice it just kind of slips out. upon investigation, i realize the input jack thing on my guitar is fucked up...
so does anyone know how easy/costly this is to fix? i'm gonna take it in to the place where i get my lessons on tuesday, but i want to know if it's gonna empty my wallet...

Shouldn't be expensive at all. On my guitar, the jack has two screws and it pops right out. It could be as simple as you just need a nut on there too.

Don't know if you fixed it or not already, but I think the same thing happened to my bass (which I thought I would use). The little hexagonal screw came off and was never found, and the part with the ridges slipped into the bass.
All i did was take the same 1/4 inch dealie off the CD input off my amp, and screw it into the bass.
Now if you dont have a worthless CD input on your amp, I guess you could get a whole pack for cheap at the Home Depot or Ace Hardware.

uh, just buy a new jack - maybe 20 bucks tops. install it yourself, if you know how to solder

just got back from the guitar place.
it was just a lost nut, as skizzor suggested
since they're a small business, and im a frequent customer, the guy gave me a new one/set it up for free.
all is good now

well i was going to say it was the pickup set distributor manifold and make up stuff that if you were really new to the guitar world you would have believed but you got it fixed already so I'm guessing it was a loose nut
