Random people always ask me what type of music I listen to. I don't really know what to tell them since I listen to lots of different kind of music. I usually just say classic rock or metal or something. I am not too knowledgable in music genres and stuff like that, I just listen to what sounds good to me personally, that is lyrically and rythmically.
So I was just wondering what genre would these bands I listen to classify as?
The following are bands that I listen to and I think I know what genre they belong in, but I'm probably wrong for some.

Bad Religion
Beatles
Black Sabbath

I'm sure google would gladly help you categorize your music. Though its really not rocket science when it comes to classifying.

WTF Metallica in classic rock? Try Metal. The Who, Queen, Aerosmith, and maybe Jethro Tull are classic rock.

Smashing Pumpkins are not Goth
hence me saying goth rock...goth is more of an image...they just have darker themes...and again, like I said, they're not limited to any label...especially one that I give them...what would you consider them to be?

Smashing Pumpkins were alternative. plain and simple. that whole goth thing that Billy Corrigan went through (and is still doing as far as i know) didn't start till after Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

Hence the question marks I put everywhere. And thanks Takeoff.
Some of you guys say fuck labels but half the threads in here are about labels, about shit being emo or rap or w/e.
