Simple. Rate the last album you bought.
Here's the rating system
:boink: = Your favorite album as of now.
:D = Great album. I like every song.
:) = Good, but could be improved.
 = It's ok. Nothing amazing, nothing terrible.
 = There's one or two songs I actually enjoy. The rest is terrible.
:sleeping2 = I almost fell asleep while listening to it. Shit.
:banghead: = Jesus, why'd I waste my money on this crap?
:preachon: = It's worth protesting over.
Korn - Life Is Peachy = :)
I liked it, but it wasn't anything amazing. A lot of songs have their individuality. Others just didn't do much for me.

Norther - Til Death Unites Us
Their older stuff was better in my opinion(Dreams of Endless War). And some of the lyrics were just cheesy nu-metal, "Fuck You" Some good songs, wouldn't call it a bad album but wouldn't recommend it to anybody but fans.

I got these two at about the same time:
Elliott Smith's self-titled: :D
It's a fantastic album, though rather depressing. Of course, it is Elliott Smith we're talking about.
Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós: :D
It's just brilliantly beautiful music, and so very pleasing to listen to.

Camel - Mirage (1974) = :boink:
Amazing album - prog beauty. In fact, I'd say I like it about as much as King Crimson's Red which was released in the same year.
Carcass - Necroticism-Decanting the Insalubrious (1991) = :D
A pretty nice piece of melodic death metal. The guitarwork is quite good (wouldn't expect anything less from Amott/Steer), the drumwork is good and well devised. And with Jeff Walker on vocals, I have no objection either.
I can see why these guys have influenced an entire genre.

Arise is a great album. Back when Sepultura was great, before the overblown Roots album.

The Gathering - Mandylion (1995) - :D Progressive Metal with IMO the #2 best singer in the world. The first of now 6 albums with her as the vocalist, 4 of which I still don't have yet (and two previous to her, which are both your usual shitty death metal - thank God they changed their style). Not a bad song on the album.
Flyleaf (2005) - :) It's the shortest album I have now at barely over half an hour. One or two songs are not as good as the rest, and some songs sound similar to others. But the singer is obviously very talented. At times she sounds a lot like Avril Lavigne, and then other times reminds me of Kittie. It's a good listen, but certainly not groundbreaking like the above is.
On my page on myspace (http://www.myspace.com/ypsidan04), you can hear songs from both bands. Click on the 4th and 5th video from the top on the left side (Flyleaf on top). And the others are good too or I wouldn't have them there. #3 is Within Temptation. I would put their singer in the top 5.

The album is nice, there were a lot of songs I wasn't familiar with, and a few that I love.

Blind Guardian's new single : Fly.
It would have to be a :D.
Blind Guardian is my favorite band and Fly is my new favorite song, if it was a full album, it would probably be a :boink:. The have a In A Gadda Da Vida cover on it, and it fucking rocks.
I fucking love Blind Guardian.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
It's alright. Although 'King of Carrot Flows part I' and 'KOCF parts II and III' are pretty much awesome .
This band is cool because it is a basic acoustic set but there are some unconventional instruments thrown in as well (trumpet, accordion, banjo)
The writing style is pretty unique too...
Worth buying.... No
Worth stealing... Yes

Camel - Mirage (1974) = :boink:
Amazing album - prog beauty. In fact, I'd say I like it about as much as King Crimson's Red which was released in the same year.
True that.
When I first got Mirage it stayed in my CD player for about a month. I got the remastered/repackaged version a while back that's got a few unreleased live tracks on it, and I just can't get over how good the album is and why Camel aren't more well known.
Anyway...
Allan Holdsworth - Metal Fatigue :)
One way this could be improved is if there was more of it. There are only 6 tracks, and even though one of them is 14mins +, there's just not enough of this album. Every song is excellent though, and even if some of the lyrics are a bit dodgy the sheer quality ot the music more than makes up for it.

Hump de Bump is a great song. It's like their old stuff - nice and funky with a great bassline (and trumpet as well).
I'm guessing you're inclined towards their modern rock material???

Wolfmother :)
I mainly bought it because of their single, Woman, and the rest of the album isn't as good as I hoped. I have only listened to it once so I will give it a couple more trys.
RHCP---Stadium Arcadium
Aside from the cheesy title, this album is better then I thought it would be. It's different, but great. It's like they just expanded on the sound they were first developing with By The Way and Californication, but they got way better this time. It's great smoking/driving music, and I really REALLY like the song "Snow (hey oh)".
I give it a 7/10, points deducted for lack of bass solos.

yea i like some of the funk stuff but i tend to lean more torwards the more rock songs. But the best song on the album has gotta be Snow (Hey Oh).

Eh, I prefer their stuff like A Ghost Is Born and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot much more.

I enjoyed it, though it was only alright, and nother really stood out. Some of their stuff reminded me a bit of The Pixies, and that's always a plus.

Meshuggah-I
Immense one songed epic that encompasses many aspects, I must admit that when I bought it I had no idea that it was one song even though the song does last over 21 minutes.
Iggy Pop-Lust for Life
Great album with a few very popular songs, not as rough as some of the Iggy and the Stooges work, me likey.
