Do we have to have a fucking thread for every match. Isn't that what "The ***OFFICIAL*** World Cup 2006 Thread" is for. I mean Jesus:

I know I am not the first to complain, but I figured since every freaking match gets it's own thread this could as well.

would you make 1 thread for basketball games, 1 for baseball and american football ones? the worldcup happens once per 4 years, it's something very special, virtually everyone watches the worldcup or knows about it well except many americans, it's far too important and each games deserve their own threads, a single worldcup thread for over 60 games is really confusing! it's only 30 days that the worldcup will take over this forum!

You can't talk about 10 games in 1 thread, noone knows who is commenting on what, you need one thread perhaps for the scores, the rest country vs country deserve their own threads.

Funny, it seems to work relatively well for the NBA playoffs, NHL playoffs, etc. I am not saying you need one thread for soccer, but you do not need a seperate one for each individual game. Come on. Hell the only one of them that makes it past 2 pages is the US thread, so I think you could probably handle it in one thread.

well perhaps we can have a worldcup forum! football is a different game to basketball and the fact that DIFFRENT COUNTRIES PLAY rather than DIFFRENT teams from the world which are the best in their continent only makes it more talk worthy, i think we should have a worldcup subforum here then after the worldcup they can delete the forum, move the threads into the sport forum.

I understand other people don'e want to see all the worldcup threads, fair enough, maybe we can have a subforum, i would hate to see all worldcup threads on 1 though.

I'm a big football fan and there's nothing more I love than the world cup but I have to agree with the yanks, its getting fucking stupid. pers, I'm sure your just doing it to wind people up now, we certainly dont need a whole thread for Saudi vs Tunisia.

I think a possible sub-forum unil the worldcup finishes would be a good idea, gives the football fans the chance to talk as much as we want and we won't be clogging up the sports forum for the rest of the people.

That would actually be a very good idea to have a seperate World Cup section, but unfortunately not very likely. That also would not be a bad idea when things like the Olympics roll around.

I'm sorry, but therein lies the problem with your whole argument. Who are you to say that Saudi and Tunisia is a shit game that doesn't deserve it? Who moderates it? Who controls it? Right now, that answer is nobody. So we literally will have 3 new threads a day for a month pertaining to single games that get around 2 pages long and then stop, thus filling up the board with crap.

My solution is simple, have 2 official threads. One of which pertains to the current game that is going on, and the other that pertains to more discussion type issues, i.e. is Brazil the best team, etc. The games thread will change topics in a logical manner as each new game starts, and the topics thread will move from topic to topic.

Let's do that...eh?

are there any saudi arabians on here or tunisians who would like to talk to each other about that single match?

if not, the few comments can be done in the official world cup thread...

but serisouly, people will come in late, maybe the next day and want to read what others thought of a match, or add a comment... do you realise how annoying and hard that would be if the entire world cup were in a single thread?

you and i STILL have unfinished business in the USA thread... and i dont really want to contaminate the world cup thread with our petty squabbles...

That is exactly why the subforum for the World Cup would be a good idea. I don't understand why they don't do that.

hmm, i don't understand why people talk about sports here tbh! if you want to talk about football there are many footie forums around and about.

is it a surprise football talk isn't welcome by most americans!

In Europe, asia and Africa oh and south america when they talk about sports people generally think about football, in America it’s a completely different story.

i think it would be too much work... and not quite enough interest...

or they could do it and make me look wrong... *hint hint*

The game is just to slow paced for most Americans I think. I mean I actually heard about a great game that ended up in a zero to zero tie. We are to addicted to constant action the watching a 90 minute soccer game is just too much for most.

I have seen them do it here before in the premium forums.

prem is a bit different i think...

and thats what i dont get about the american view of football... at ANY moment, the outcome for the match can change completely... your on the edge of your seat like the entire game if its exciting...

This thread has already been done, read it:

For the last time, if you don't like a thread or sport, stay out of it and post in one or make one about a sport you like. It's that simple.
