Well here it is, so you're on myspace or whatever and you're having a wee browse at the music section or your on msn talking to someone about music or even in person and they come out with the statement "I like any sort of music" well in my personal experience anyone who comes out with such a statement sure as hell doesnt like every type of music and are usually quite picky about their music, I would say that I have a broad music taste and I generally like bits and pieces from most genres. If I served them up a hot plate of Dutch gabber with a side serving of Russian noisecore and a dessert of Asian Dub then they probably 9 times out of 10 they wouldn't like it.

Most people who say that are only familiar with mainstream music anyway, so they don't really count. I'd like to see some of the people who say that listen to some Shitmat or Merzbow though..

^Dude, I totally agree with you. Post counts do not back up opinions. I remeber when I first posted I was called a n00b. Fuck everybody who says that.

I feel that people who say that usually don't like all types of music. "Oh I listen to everything".... oh yeah?

I like to think I literally listen to just about everything (not everything, obviously). I truely like any music that is done well, and I have tons of different kinds of music.

I have to agree with that. Most people who say they listen to everything don't - they usually fit under this profile.

* What they mainly listen to comprises of whatever is in the top 20 at the time, usually pop punk, rap, rnb, hip hop and pop.

* The extent of their classic rock is AC/DC - Highway To Hell and GnR - Sweet Child O' Mine. And a few other songs..

* The extent of their metal taste is Metallica - Enter Sandman, and maybe a tiny bit of nu-metal.

* Generally these people say "I like everything except country"
