50.
Sugarhill Gang
Well what way to start a list than starting with pioneers of rap music. The group the big in that they made the first hip-hop hit for the mainstream media. Other than that, the group itself wasn't that great.

49.
Tone Loc
I guess there is more to Tone Loc than Wild Thang and Funky Cold Medina. I respsct Tone Loc. Not sure if I would put him on this list.

48.
Kool Moe Dee
Okay I am not going to comment on Kool since I haven't listened to him.
47.
Arrested Development
Supposedly pioneers in alternative rap, the group is a christian rap group. I haven't heard them trough and through. But pioneers in alt rap makkes them worthy of gacing this list.
46.
Eve
I'm not cool with this. But I have't listened to Eve really. But I'm really skeptical with he making an appearance here.
45.
Heavy D. & The Boyz
I guess Heavy D is kinda worthy of bieng here. I don't like there songs much though.
44.
MC Hammer
Stop! Hammer Time! Hammer as of late has been getting respect. A lot of people associate him with Vanilla Ice, which is understood but not cool. I respect Hammer for what he has done. His choice to get to the top was rap.
43.
Coolio
Radio Gangster
Collio has produced some hits that would put him in a Hip-Hop hall of fame. But I would rank him 50.
42.
Kurtis Blow
One of the first MCs. Maybe the first. worthy of being here.
41.
MC Lyte
Mc Lyte is a female rapper. She has skills and belongs here.
40.
Gang Starr
Gangstarr is an MC through and through I may rank him lower though.
39.
Ja Rule
Ja ahead of Blow? Skeptical and debateable.
38.
Biz Markie
Biz is great. Truly a good rapper and horrible singer. Props!
37.
The Roots
:dunce: Placement may be wrong.
36.
Master P
:raiseeyeb

Much lower or even off
13.
NWA

12.
Wu-Tang Clan
Yes or higher
11.
Beastie Boys
Lower
10.

Dre, Wu Tang and Nas should be closer to the top ten, if not in the top ten IMO. And I know Dre is already in the top ten, I just feel he should be lower.

A Tribe Called Quest should also be much lower (I mean lower as in closer to one, not closer to 50).

Thats a pretty good list, i was pleased to see Public Enemy and Run DMC to be high up on the list.

And yea Eminem should be a bit further down the list, Snoopaloop should be higher.

Oh yes, i know, judging by just about......everything you see about me one would assume so. But i do have a love for old school hip-hop, like the artists i mentioned, Public Enemy, Run DMC, The Roots, The Coup, some old school Will Smith, Wu-Tang. I cant stand the mainstream stuff of today though.

Crock o\' shite - Public Enemy\'s ridims are boring as far as I\'m concerned, 2Pac is an overrated shit stain, Dre/Nas/Wu should be a lot higher - where the fuck is Mobb Deep? I\'d like to see any of those artists produce an album so brilliant from start to finish as \'The Infamous\'.

I don\'t much care for De La Soul/A Tribe Called Quest/Jungle Brothers etc. fag nigga bullshit rap, I like real underground such as K-Otix though - no real representation for underground on that list - at least coulda had El-P and Doom.

Wu-Tang should have won, if only for GZA\'s Liquid Swords...

I like how they put Busta Rhymes and A Tribe Called Quest after one another. Pretty ironic.

The Roots # 37?!?!?!?! thats an outrage. The Roots at least deserve somewhere in the top 15. There way better than all that mainstream shit today.

Im happy with Run DMC and Public Enemy being at the top.

Any TV list is gonna put Biggie and Tupac at the top, almost no way around it. Im actualy shocked Biggie and Tupac werent ranked 2 and 1, as every list Ive seen by MTV and VH1 has done.

Rakim and Nas deserve a spot in the top 10.

Roots should be higher.

Eminem should be in the 10-20 range.

Em belongs exactly where he is on the list. There should be no more complaints about Em. Move on.
