What is the strangest/random/bizarre song/band you have ever listened to? I would say that probably a tie between some Mr Bungle stuff and Crotchduster.

I heard a bit of a horrible band called disturbed. They are really freakky !!!!

Primus was the first real "goofy" band that i ever loved. I heard "Shake Hands With Beef" and "Tommy the Cat" and was like "wtf is this shit". Then i saw Les Claypool's godliness and explored more of their music and now I love them, they are quite strange though.

Nine Inch Nails, look up practically any video of "March of the Pigs" live, its insanity, actually back in the day any NIN show was insanity, look up Woodstock '94 on youtube. Trent makes some fucked up music videos as well, "Happiness in Slavery" anyone? Not to mention the "Broken" movie. But hell i love the shit Trent comes up with, i think hes brilliant and very talented.

Also GWAR, you practically cant top them.

I hate most mainstream stuff, modern rap and pop stuff is shit. I am however open to pretty much any genre of music, but death metal is the one I have yet to understand the attraction with. It fuckin sucks.

Mr. Bungle and Primus are pretty obvious ones.

Black Flag's later experimental jazz-metal stuff is pretty weird too. Just listen to Loose Nut, In My Head or The Process of Weeding Out. It's probably the best, most bizarre and most overlooked Black Flag material out there.

There's also the band in my avatar, titled Qwestion. Not very well-known, they're somewhat of a prog/technical melodic thrash fusion band. They have no vocals.

Then there's this interesting funk/folk/punk kind of band out there called This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb. I remember liking them a lot, I gotta get back into them.

well, any band that mike patton is in (mr. bungle, fantomas, peeping tom, etc.) and primus are really fucking great wierd bands. although john zorn (who is a master musician, btw) probably has the strangest/wierdest music i have ever heard in my life.

beware though, because there are ALOT of really crappy bands out there that attempt to be "wierd/strange/bizzare" but fortunately it's pretty easy to decipher the good ones from the bad.

Tom Morello's guitar sounds are really wierd, but the only one I can think of at the moment for being really wierd is RATM - 'Revolver'. The intro is crazy!

First time I heard them (about 10 years ago) I thought their music was an incoherent mess, but over time I've gradually come to appreciate them and the influence they've had on one of my favourite bands, The Ozric Tentacles. You have to sift through their stuff though, they've released something like 25 - 30 albums, and there is some sub-standard stuff out there. The early albums with Steve Hillage are my favourites; Flying Teapot etc.

Those songs both just played. I'd say they are more cool and awsome than strange. The Fallout boy guy has no idea what music is, I'm just going to leave it at that. And I also had no idea so many people on these boards like Mike Patton. He is a musical god. I never dislike anything he puts out, but my Fantomas/Melvins CD takes the cake for wierdness... that shit gives me nightmares... but then again so does Disco Volanté.
