I posted in the NBA Finals thread a couple hours ago, and nobody has posted after me so I thought I would make a thread about it.

Jerry Stackhouse of the Dallas Mavericks was suspended. If some of you don't know what happend when Shaq went for a dunk he pretty much tackled him in the air. So he got suspended for Game 5 of the NBA Playoffs.

So what I am trying to say is, so much for the bench scoring Sunday night.

wow i didnt know that, thats weak. dont do that in the nba finals. dallas needs to step it up biggggggg time now. look for van horn to either shine with 15-20 points or a big choke.

I am really not worried. If we lose Sunday we still have 2 home games. I agree this benefits Miami, but I in no way think we are screwed. I will say this, we are screwed if Dirk doesn't step up and play ball like he did earlier in the playoffs. The looks he is getting do no good if he can't hit the wide open shot, and doing nothing but taking pull-up jumpers is not going to win anything in the finals.

The NBA made a mistake about this suspension in my opinion. The announcers and the offcials during the game didn't think it was that bad of a foul. They gave it a flagrant 1 (flagrant 2 is more severe) during the game. You can argue he didn't play the ball, but he wants to stop the Shaq from scoring, not to try and block the ball, so he had to give a hard foul to stop him from scoring. If anyone is to blame for the entire play, its Jayson Williams who didn't go for the easy lay up, instead pass the ball back to Shaq, allowed Stackhouse to come into the play and foul him. If Terry, Nowitzki and Howard put up the numbers they are supposed to, they can still do well without Stackhouse.

I just saw the clip on ESPN, and it looked pretty bad. It wasn't the actual contact with Stackhouse, but the contact Shaq had with the court.

Mark Cuban is a douchebag. Everyone praises him for his "enthusiasm" and great buisness and owner qualities, but if the guy didn't have so much money he'd just be the white trash asshole that would throw a cup of beer like at the Detroit brawl. :)

No, it seem as if he was, because Wade was holding him down. It really didn't turn into anything much.

Wow.

You cannot just run into a player that violently. I don't care if it wasn't classified as a flagrant 2, you can't do that shit, and the NBA did a good job suspending him.

I agree that it was a bitch move, but you must admit he doesn't deserve a suspension. I mean I don't give a fuck because I am a Heat fan, but he didn't deserve it.

Yeah I'm bitter. But I am being for real. I like Shaq, he's an awesome guy, he's hillarious at every press conference. I respect Dwayne Wade like crazy, yeah he tries to act like Jordan way too much 'flipping the ball up' and fails but he's hitting the Jumper now and it's scary. Alonzo wants this more than any other Heat player, he has determination like a milf.

How do you stop a 7 foot 300+ pound man? You have to use force. Slapping him on the arm ain't gonna do shit, he's gonna make the shot. A suspension is deserving when something was clearly unnecessary or with the intent of harming someone. This was necessary by Stackhouse to stop the easy bucket. He was not trying to hurt Shaq at all, ask any professional. I know basketball, and I've seen worse. Stackhouse is a good guy and even Shaq said his Daughter tackles him harder. So, give me a break that was total BS.
