THIS IS PRICELESS! GOOD FIND!

This is exactly why AOL is probably the worse online service provider; so worse in fact, that they have to mail out free CD's of their software to try out for a month or so to encourage consumers to buy their service.

I understand the fact that the CSR has to at least know why the customer wants to cancel their account. I also understand that a solution, offers or deals would have to be provided during their cancellation just so the fact that the customer was indeed offered something. However, though they are CSR's and that they are doing what they're supposed to do, I would assume they have as much logic and sense as anyone does. That is to say, anyone would realize if a customer doesn't want any offers or deals that would be in their "best interest".
I mean, if a customer is continually telling me to cancel the account even while I'm trying to tell them any other offers, sense would tell me to shut my mouth and just cancel the damn account. When AOL makes it difficult for a customer to simply cancel an account to the point where the customer has to beg them to do so, that reputes very bad customer service because it seems like the CSR doesn't even care what you say when you answer their question "Why is it that you're cancelling your account today, sir/madam?"

They're making people feel stupid and guilty for cancelling.

If anyone here works for AOL, I've one question for you: what in fuck's name can't you shit heads understand "CANCEL THE ACCOUNT!"?

The AOL service might be good now, better than it was when it first came out. But the customer service is still the same: shit.
