This guy used to be the man!!! I was one of his biggest fans and still am. Why is he so crap now? and fat?

Does anybody here think he can put his print in this world cup like he did in the last (and in '98 too) world cup(s)? Can he make a come back and show everybody why defenders used to shake whenever he got the ball?

ronaldo has always been fat, even in 1998, well, it's not really fat, he has quite alot of lean muscle actually, he is just slightly bulky which makes him look fat, maradona was fat when he won the worldcup for argentina and it didn't do anything bad for his performance.

Some people just have bad games or bad worldcups, there is also an element of expectation from him, i think he will improve in the later stages of the worldcup.

His preperation on the run up to the world has been knocked here and there through injury and illness and he hasnt actual played much in the last month or two. Give him alittle time to get into form and I'm still taking him to be one of or the top scorer.

my biggest upset for brazil has been ronaldinho, i thought he would produce some very amazing moments, perhaps in the later stages for him too, same with zidan.

I hope you two above are right. I was pretty much praying for him to play a proper role in the last game (brazil vs australia). He set up Adriano and that was good enough for me. But the commentator bashed him pretty good. It made me upset :( Kept referring to him as having gone past his peak and how we only saw "flashes of what is left from the old ronaldo". Something like that. I watch the ones with the British commentators btw (they are undoubtedly the best, in my opinion, football commentators to listen to for anybody who understands english).

He used to be the worlds best player and most feared striker in 1997/98. He was the main man in World Cup 98.

And he was the top goal scorer in the 2002 World Cup.

well, he looked good yesterday. I've always been a big fan of him. Too bad he had so many serious injury's. He's still a top player in my book. If you score about 20 goals in the Primera Division, you're a top player, no mather what.

If he scores 1 goal he holds the record of most goals on the world cup. Go Ronaldo!!!:dunce:

Poor fellow busted his knee twice, missing two whole seasons. I understand why he doesn't take the risks anymore that he used to take before those horrible injuries.:wah:
