i'v raced cars semi-pro for 4 years now and i have to say that there is no beter thrill. but what i hate are all these young asshole pukes in there 92 rustbucket hondas racing up and down the street at reackless speeds. theres a time and a place. the other week i was driving on the high, and this fucker in a 95 celica rush by me and nearly put me into the devider. i was confident that my Buick GS could have wiped him out in a race, but there is a time and a place. i have a friend who's brother was killed by a street racer, the guy slammed into his car at 100 mph and the guy he was racing just drove on. the racer was protected by his roll cage and racing seats and harness, but my friends brother didn't have that luxury. he died 3 weeks later in the hospital due to complications. the racer got a mild concussion. i think that all these little scrotums should get there drivers foot cut off the first time they even try racing in the street. :mad:

the problem with the riceboys is their cars are so slow that to feel any sort of speed they need to drive it at full throttle 24/7. I don't street race anymore because the risks of killing somebody and spending the next 10 years with bubba are too high. Find a deserted road and go at it, not a highway with other cars. Just another reason why riceboyz are fucking homos.

Geez, you guys hate far too much. I streetrace but also know when and where it's safe to do so, obviously the best place is Sunday morning at the drag strip, but if I'm planning on running I take it behind a shopping center, empty parking lot, or private road.

Anyhow, I've sorta slapped myself out of that shit, because at one time I wanted to do it, by viewing pics of car wrecks, bike wrecks, and the like. The first few times you race all you'll want to do is race more and more but you get over it once you've established yourself. When you drive by and people take notice. You don't have to prove anything, everybody knows it's the fastest car in town.

They made us watch videos of gross stuff like those pics in Drivers Ed to scare us into driving the speed limit all the time. You can end up in wrecks like those going 35. Racing will increase your risk of ending up like that, but the increase depends on your car and what skill level as a driver you are and your opponent is. I usually don't race anyone I don't know unless it's at the track where they've got their lane and I've got mine. You wouldn't believe some of the crazy stuff I've seen happen in races...

I agree that you should use the track but if it's 1 or 2am and the nearest track is 20 miles out, a long stretch of empty pavement works just fine. Like I've said before, mainstreet in your town during rush hour is stupid and will land you in some serious trouble.

"The Thrill" is what makes it so addictive when you first start out. You get used to it and you just drive. It's just a bigger risk to people who don't know what they're doing.

well, i live in arkansas, up in the sticks with all the hicks. used to live in little rock...so i'm kinda outta my natural habitat. ANYWAY...

these hicks up here can't afford the Evo's and Civic's, so they put huge ass mufflers on these 74 Ford Trucks. So, every once and a while you'll hear this huge muffler going and see this ugly ass beat up red truck going 15 mph down a street, with these retarded hicks banging their heads to the fast and the furious sound track.

so, the moral of the story is, they cut out the middle man. they are Natural Born Vegetables.

wings - its usually a front wheel drive car. you dont need downforce in the rear. you want it in the front.

mufflers - adding headers, exhaust and a muffler dont increase hp more than 15. useful if your intent on squeezing out hp out of bolt ons. adding a big muffler and fart pipe adds none.

vtec - isnt it used in minivans?

cold air intake - this doesnt really do much

body kit - this just makes your car ugly.

nos - "naws" , used to blow up your engine.

stickers - help show upgrades that you dont actually possess.

riceboys - pathetic low lifes in civics, integras, and eclipses with visors cocked sideways. loud speakers.

automatic transmissions - for people without male genetalia.

i saw a eclipse rs that had all this sticker shit all over it. i peaked in the window through the tinting and it was an automatic.

Well i thought i would share my thoughts, since i havent been on here for a bit..
If your really a dedacated racer you'll go to the track and show what you got.
Raceing on the streets dosent prove anything other then your a whimp and know that you CAN be beat by the best.
See im upgrading my car and all and as far as it gose for the stickers and shit i wont put them on. I HAD TO PAY FOR THE DAMM SHIT SO WHY SHOULD I ADVERTISE FOR THEM WHEN THEY DIDNT PAY FOR IT!
And all in all i love my domestic cars...i dont have anything agenst imports but i love the raw power..
If you are gonna test out your car then do it at the track where you can clock yourself and go back home to do more modifycations.
If your gonna race on the streets to look cool well...........you are pritty pitaful.


Enginering would be a big help to thous who want to get the most out of there car...forget the books guys and gals..they dont tell you specs..

i drive a civic

....completely without stickers/banners. i have cold air intake, 4-2-1 headers, 2.5" midpipe, and a 4" tip. it has a resonator still on it, so it doesnt sound like 10000 honey bees in a maxwell house coffee can.

i streetrace, but never organized. red-light to red-light is more my style. (3rd gear = no power, anyways). i've beaten plenty of accords, a few cavaliers, and some v6 mustangs.

i've been in 2 ditches (looooong time ago) and they scared the living crap outta me. thats why i dont race at top-end.

the reason i dont go to the track is that i dont make enough money yet to spend it outside of paying for insurance and other car modifications.

stop hatin' on the streetracers...hate the ones that don't know how to drive.

btw, i agree with almost everything tex said...except about the body kits and the cold air intake. cold air intakes can help increase HP...if coupled with a complete exhaust system. and a body kit can look good, if a good one is selected.

I know what you mean about the top end racing, I really don't care for that either. I've never ditched or rolled one, but still prefer it if there's a set start and end.

I don't know what the track situation is where you live. At my local drag strip we have "grudge matches" on Sunday mornings most of the time and you can race anyone no matter what you drive. There's just a small track fee, usually less than $20.

Now most of the body kits i see out there on most hondas (i only metion honda because its more popular) are shitty and have no use.
in my up-grading of my car iv takin everything into consideration but theres fun toys and theres fun.
If im gonna spend 10-15-even 20,000 on my car for up-grades it better be takin to a track and get some money or trophys.
As you can see im a GM girl and i take my car and raceing seriously so i dont need a rice burnner pulling up to me at a red light and nodding his head, because you look pathetic.
and watch out for the granny whos walking her dog across the street ahead assholes!

the problem is that these KIDS build some car up with 2o thousend dollors in after market parts, but they do two things wrong, 1.) they neglect whats really important, i have gone to DarkKnights a couple times as an observer and what i see are cars with Nos, Turbo chargers, and Blowers but absalutly stock suspension, brakes, and know roll cage. plus most of them have the 5 point harness installed wrong and never wear it. and the 2nd thing is that these kids have no fucking idea how to drive these cars. the burn clutches, warp moters, and over steer the car. i seen one kid shift 7 times down a strip, probably because he had seen Vin Desiel do it and so that must be how it's done.

Id like to first of all set the scenareo. Over here, insurance is rediculous, and so are speed cameras. Insurance here, How about a 17yr old with a $2k civic 1.4, will pay around $7k a yar in insurance.

i think the thing that bugs me, is when people take a honda accord, put some "lighter" "rims" on it, a spoiler ( might i add on a front wheel drive car ;) ) and then claim that they have new headers, and they can produce a sonic boom, and that their car is just nicer (despite the two foot spoiler that does nothing except make the car look like a jet ready to take off.) that really bugs me, especially when they add in "oh yeah my windows are tinted, that adds an extra 70 miles and hour on my top speed"

i have torn down some imports and quite frankly there shit. they have weak crumple zones. no tourqe, small engine. and don't get me started on that 4 cylnder sound, reminds me of a lawnmower.

And hell no, you'll never see Civic racing at LeMans. That's simply a Honda weakness. They're not designed to do endurance runs.
And of course they don't have torque..BOO..
But what kind of high-end does the average domestic have? What about compression ratios? Oops..forgot those things exist?
But then you don't see any American cars running at the Nismo Festival races or the N1 Super Taikyu Endurance races (comprised of mostly Honda NSXs and Nissan Skylines in the top class) in Japan, do you?
They're all just different cars.
Comparing LeMans class cars to Civics is like comparing NFL to High school football. It's just plain STU-PID.

Dollar for dollar, domestics win. You'll spend $5k on a Civic and it might be able to hang with a STOCK SVT Moostang or LS1.

And as far as looks go...don't even start. Imports look better. Domestics look better. Fuck it. It's all a matter of opinion.

And then when they're racing on the freeway they downshift all over the place so hard they'll break their arm and their shit still ain't going any faster than they're thinking, "SHIT MANG. NO POWER! MY DECALS MUST HAVE FALLEN OFF."

No wonder everyone flames import drivers.

Why do people street Race?

Well i got an answer right here. All the young people dont have money and we are forced to buy peace of shit cars (270hp Subaru WRX). So we spend all our money on our cars trying to make it look nice, make it faster and louder while still attending school. So we dont have any spare money to pay for the membershiip at fancy auto clubs or whatever so we are forced to streetrace. A lot of you might say well ask your parents for help. Parents dont want to spend money on their kids, especially pay for them to go racing. I go to school, have a job and pay for all of my shit and with todays standards are being very high we have no option than to streetrace. Do you guys really think somebody likes driving the rice cars like a honda or toyota, of course not, if everybody had money they would be cruising around in some exotics like ferraris so please all the old people out there stop hating on us its all your guys fault anyway not helping us out but making it worse while you guys should say thank you, we are retiring you guys with the money they take away from our pay checks but no its still not enough. why dont you guys put your self in our position. Just think about it.
