His moves weren't all that great, but it must have been kickass to visit all those places and just dance it out. Great Wall, Area 51...

This was clearly a fake.
Kidding. The video is pretty fucking cool. I need to visit Area 51 someday.

I think a better question than "Is this real?" is "How in the hell can this guy afford to go to all these places?" Probably has a fat expense account courtesy of "daddy". Spoiled rotten little b*tch.

Yeah, you're right...cause we all know that anyone with money had to have gotten it from their father.

How do you afford all this travel?
I saved up at my job for a few years and then quit. That’s the simple answer.
It also doesn’t cost as much as a lot of folks think. Aside from the flights, I spend less on any given day than I would sitting at home paying utilities, car insurance, parking tickets (I get a lot of parking tickets)...
If you visit regions like Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, South America, and most of Africa -- and you’re willing to rough it a little -- you can get by on dollars a day.
More recently, with the crazy and unexpected response to the dancing video, I’ve been lucky enough to find help getting to those hard-to-reach places. So no, I’m not funding this whirlwind, seven-continent escapade with the money I tucked away designing videogames.

Scarecrow, I know what you mean. It's probably because it shows somehow that deep down everyone is human, and no matter where in this world you live, politics, red paper, and language aside, we are all alike. Everyone wants to be happy in life, despite all of the complications the media superimposes on other countries and races.

The song IS "Sweet Lullaby" by Deep Forest, but it's been badly remixed. Go back to 1995 and get the haunting and pure original version.

Yes. Yes it is. I've gotta degree in geography so I'm really into this shit. I can't believe the diverse locations he went to. I do doubt however that a few years of saving up at his work would pay for all of the plane tickets. I mean really, a plane ticket to the galapogos islands is 1,000 at least from say...NYC. Unless he was a lawyer or something, one cannot simply explore the globe on a few years salary. Aside from the extremely cheek-squeezingly gay dancing I liked the video. I would be nice to just show him in those locations. Meh...good update all in all. :)

Apparently, he gained outside help after posting the videos on the net. He himself states (in the quote I posted) that he isn't doing all of this on what he saved up. His site also states that he flew to the Galapogos islands from Guayaquil, Ecuador. Much closer than New York.
I think the gay dancing is intentional...

I know...I just picked New York out of thin air. Just the accumulated flight costs must be sky high. But if he was funded from outside sources not only does it make sense, but it makes him a lucky man. I would love to be a funded globe-trotter. Oh and even if it is intentional; in no way does it make less gay. Fuck it...I'd probably have a little spring in my step if I could travel all over the earth. I'd be dancing a little jig. :)

Traveling is so fucking fun. I have been outside the U.S. like 6 times, to Australia and New Zealand, and it is worth every penny for the travel. If you haven't yet experienced life outside of your country you definately should. Especially us Americans, it is refreshing to see how others live and do the things they do for a change.

some of those places he was at made me wonder.
Antarctica... he had to have been freezing his ass off
he was also dancing in the sea... surrounded by Jelly fish. those things can get pretty deadly.
area 51 "supposedly" doesn't exist. our government says it doesn't but we know what our government is capable of doing
a lot of these places he couldn't even fly to unless he had a private plane going around which im sure he did.
this movie has inspired me to trip around the world. I have only been in 8 united states not counting those I just traveled through.
traveled through does not count. plus I went to ontario, canada.
my freind has been to multiple countries like canada, Iraq, Kuwait(sp) mainly for his military duty but that is still more than me.

Oh and buddy, WHO THE HELL SAID AREA 51 DIDNT EXIST? Lol, google earth. Its right there. I hate you conspirsy jackasses. The place you cant find is Roswell Newmexico, the most secritive government facility. You cant even see it if you can get within 300 feet without getting "lost".

Naaa... it exists and our government knows they can't hide it. What's inside is what supposedly doesn't exist. I once ate at a little mexican cafe right across the street from the fence.

Travelling the world is probably my biggest realistic dream, aside from having a great career and great family. I've mainly been travelling across the US, but plan to go international once I start a career and possibly have a family to enjoy it with (I'm only 18), and maybe visit my home country again (Philippines).
And yes this video is a feel good video. Very inspiring (except the dancing lol).

Nah, stride gum paid for it (hench the ending)
A few months into his trip, a travel buddy gave Matt the idea of dancing everywhere he went and recording it on his camera. This turned out to be a very good idea. Now Matt is quasi-famous as "That guy who dances on the internet. No, not that guy. The other one. No, not him either. I'll send you the link. It's funny."
The response to the first video brought Matt to the attention of the nice people at Stride long-lasting gum. They asked Matt if he'd be interested in taking another trip around the world to make a new video. Matt asked if they'd be paying for it. They said yes. Matt thought this sounded like another very good idea.
At the start of 2006, Matt left on a 6 month trip through 39 countries on all 7 continents. In that time, he danced a great deal.

Very inspiring, heart-warming video. I quite liked the dancing even if it was a little "gay". It's better than if he just stood there in all these locations and done nothing IMO. The music was nice as well:D :ahhh:

I agree with what people previously said. Its such a feel good movie. I had a smile on my face the whole time and felt better after watching it than I have for a while ^_^
I especailly liked the part where he was dancing with all the little kids in Africa. It was adorable.
