66,000kb vid only plays for 1 minute

soo i just dloaded a video that claims to be around 66,000kb large but the total time of the video is about 1 minute. the weird thing is that in windows media player when i click ahead on the seek bar it brings me to a part of the vid that i wont usually see from just letting it play without being fast fowarded. Does anyone kno how to fix this?

A common cause to this is that the video is missing parts (not a full download/incomplete, prob not your fault). Best try is to redownload if it was a torrent or something, or if someway you could do a checksum.

You could, I don't know if this would cause this as I doubt it would play at all, not have the right codec. Try downloading VLC Media Player, google it, and if that doesn't play it then its most likely a bad download.

How do i change the default player to vlc because whenever i double click on a video it still uses WMP. My poor hand will probably get tired of right clicking and all that jazz. well i appreciate your help. thanks

Right click > open with > choose program > Choose VLC and tick the box that says "always use this program to open this file" and press okay.
