I think this is going to be a pretty exciting match
Yes I know its a while away but the prospect of one last zidane vs ronaldo excites me.

France should consider themselves lucky for even making it to this point (they struggled in one of the worst first round groups).

I say this is when Brazil steps on the pedal and really shows a more aggressive style of play.

France stands no chance. ;)

That's what they want you to think.

I think that this will be Zidane's last game with France's national team...

brazil will destroy france, most of brazil's players havn't even played properly! i think against france they will be at their best, specially ronaldinho, he would nutralize zidane who is really too old to play worldcup level football now really!

ronaldinho is unfortunately getting the attention he deserves, they say hes not producing (the ignorant ones). hes the heart and soul of that team, he and cafu make that team run smoothly. he will shine as brazil wins 2-0, a late insurance marker from then in 2nd half

Thank you God. You gave me an ebaumer that realizes scoring isn't everything.

Ronaldinho orchestrates Brazil's offense. He is the "point-guard" of the team if you will. I mean, he gets double and triple teamed but still manages to give a good ball to his teammates on the attack. Ronaldinho is looked at as overrated right now, but fans that realize stats mean nothing aren't blind.

i hope france wins honestly, thierry henry all the way!

i think brazil will take this chance to fight back after losing to france in 1998

either way itll be a great match

Anyone else think brazil has a passing issue.????

Several times ive seen oppurtunities to make a short cross and instead the brazilian player will shoot rathe than pass.
They will beat france but they need to learn to share the wealth.

Brazil will beat france, i think Parreira wanted Brazil to lay off Ghana for them to attack and test brazils defence. He knew they could beat them and when the crowd started to get frustrated, 1 min later brazil scored

I watched Barcelona play alot this season and ronaldinho was amazing to watch. Before the Ghana game he had been average, compared to playing for Barcelona, all be it the world cup is against the best defenders in the world. I saw him go passed 4 real madrid defenders twice, each time scoring. I know he can play much better

Neither team have really impressed (maybe Franced over Spain) so far, so its hard to guage what's going to happen. I'm prediction France takes the match, because they are coming off a big win over Spain, while Brazil has had easy matches so far and haven't really been faced with a challenge. France 3 - 2 Brazil. Ribery is a great young player, watch out for him in this big game.

Ronaldinho hasn't had a chance to show off his moves yet: there are always 3 or 4 people on top of 'im...

Here are my predictions:
Because France sucks and clearly bought the '98 cup, I'll make the conservative prediction that Ronaldinho will score 16 goals, Ronaldo will score 8, and Kaka will score 5.
Of course, France will score 1 goal in the last few minutes when the money transfer to Zagallo's bank account finally goes through. Zagallo will then knock Parreira out and substitute Dida by putting Pele on the goal. He won't even give him gloves.

Not a fan of either team. Don't want Brazil to win as I prefer it when they're out as the competition as even in this late stage opens up a bit.

Don't want France to win as 1) Noone likes France and B) Henry went down clutching his face against spain when he go shoulder barged = a goal. It's a shame a player of his calibre has to resort to childish stunts like that.

no one likes france?!?! wasnt it mostly spain who were often crying everytime they get tackled? they played just like italy, they take dives, waste time etc

besides france got a penalty kick against them.

Great game by France!

And was it just me or was the referee giving 9 out of 10 calls to the Brazilians in the last 10 minutes? I hate it when the ref is biased towards the losing team.

By the way, that Ronaldo penalty was a total dive. The French defender had a great tackle and Ronaldo just dragged his toe on the ground until it nicked the defenders foot and he went down. Ronaldo pissed me off this match.

It wasn't a penalty call, just a foul. It was a bad call nonetheless, as Ronaldinho nearly got the free kick in from such a short distance. What was a worse call was the hand ball by Ronaldo on Henry's free kick. That whould have been a penalty shot, as the wall was within the penalty area. The referee simply awarded another free kick that was closer. I wont nick pick referee calls, as I think he did a decent game with no calls harming the outcome of the game.

France has played 2 quality games back to back, defeating both Spain and Brazil, two powerhouses in football and are 2 games away from another cup title. I had picked Brazil prior to the cup starting, but I'm leaning towards France over Germany in the cup final. I hope I'm wrong and Portugal wins it over Italy. :)

Ronaldo pretty much contradicted himself with the "joga bonito" crap.

Pushed someone after a play which would've sent him off and took an obvious dive.

First of all, I meant the free kick when I said penalty. Sorry about that.

Second, I hope you are joking about Portugal/Italy in the final. Not that they can't make it, but that the game would be awful. Whichever team makes the most convincing dives would win.

I hope the final is Germany/France. Germany doesn't really dive at all and France rarely makes any ridiculous dives either (apart from Henry last game - I will concede that). A Germany/France final would be a great game and the better team will win on how well they play and not how hard they fall.

I thought the ref made one of the worse calls I have seen in my life. When Ronaldo took a obvious dive, and the France player got a yellow card, I literally scread WHAT THE FUCK!? On the replays, the France players didn't even touch him, and he got a fucking yellow card. I am not for Brazil or France, so fuck them.

I will give credit for France for beating Brazil twice in a row.

I will give credit for Brazil for being pretty good.

I think Ribery absolutely has the potential to perform at the level of Zidane. I just don't know if he will grasp that potential and put it to good use. Everything aside, Ribery is a phenomenal player with godd skill both on and off the ball. Good stuff from the French, quite unexpected.

Apart from the majestic Zidane and talented Henri, France also have great defenders and defensive midfielders - they stifled Brazil. All round, best match of the tournament so far.

That's four times in a row that France have beaten Brazil in competitive matches, if you count the Confederations Cup; 1986, 1998, 2001, 2006.
