View Full Version : Cubs - worst team in baseball history

The Cubs are the worst team in baseball history. Since 1940, the Cubs have had 47 losing seasons and only 19 when they played .500 ball or better. During a 20 year span 1947-1966, the Cubs had 18 losing seasons. Why would the city of Chicago continue to support a franchise with such a horrible record?

Because the cubs are trendy and cool to like
And that means money

It's about Money, not records... As long as the Cubs orginization is making money, it doesn't matter.

This is a sports page and baseball isn't a sport because even a 300 lb fatso can "play" this game. Baseball is no more a sport than chess. It is just a game, like playing marbles.

Ohhh hey look, its the atreyu. I see you came out from your hiding spot. We're still waiting for your witty response to this thread http://www.forum.ebaumsworld.com/showthread.php?t=146044.

On topic, everyone loves the cubs because of the tradition and atmosphere at Wrigley's field. There's also something that everyone loves about a loser/underdog these day in sports, and the cubs fit under that category most of the time. People sort of pity them.

Go Reds

EDIT: The guy that compared baseball to chess is a complete idiot.

Dumbest Comment Ever. Let's see where to begin, the pure skill in hitting a 95MPH fastball? The ability of pitchers to throw that 95MPH Fastball for a strike consistently? The several non-playing mental factors that go into every play? But I guess every 300 lb fatso can play, which is why you make so much money playing baseball I presume?

I cant think of any 300lbs plus fatties playing right now........

At least he was banned for that post. Good job mods.:boink:

The 3 ways the Cubs can become successful are
1. Fire the GM and the manager
2. Sell the team to someone that cares more about winning than making money.
3. Trade Wood and Prior for cheap young players.

Thats because the Brewers have a bad habit of playing to the level of their opponents. They will play the Cardinals like they are as talented as the Cardinals and they will win....the next day they will play the shitfuck Pirates like they are the shitfuck Pirates and lose. Its mainly because they are a young team.

ps..yes the cubs are fucking terrible and are going nowhere fast.

I'd say my team is worse than the Cubs: the Rangers. They just haven't been around long enough to have as many losing seasons. They've made the playoffs 3 times in franchise history (all of those times coming after they expanded the number of teams that get in) and have won a total of 1 playoff game.

I ask myself why people like a team that wins a World Series every 86 years.

to be fair it does take SOME sort of athletic ability to play, but it is without a doubt one of the very least physically demanding sports ever made.

I'm not a fan of baseball, but weren't the Montreal Expos the worst team in baseball history?

:( so hateful. I cant really tell you why people that arent from chicago, or at least close, like the Cubs. I mean, i am a die hard cubs fan, but i have been all my life cuz i am from springfield il. It hurts every year, and it sucks that our team motto is "Wait till next year" WTF? I dont agree that they are the worse team, (look at the D-Rays), but i will classify them as the most disappointing team in the history of baseball.

O and to the guy that said that baseball isnt a sport, open your eyes. I would LOVE to see you step foot on a MLB field and play a game. You must've never played baseball when you were a kid. And this thread isnt titled "Why does baseball suck" so take your senseless flaming to another forum.
