I think this game will be the better of the two semi final matches. Germany is the favorite and I pictured them to be in this position before June 9th. Italy blew out the Ukraine after a close call with Australia, but they'll come ready to play (or dive) Tuesday.

I'm think Germany will take this at the end of regulation.

This was the best game of the cup so far. I had the impression that Italy was playing dirty so far this cup, so I was rooting full heartedly for Germany, but fuuuuuck, I have to give credit to Italy. What a game!

And for the people that said this game wasn't exciting until overtime... Were you watching the same game?! This game was dead even until overtime. Both teams had some great chances and were going back and forth giving everything they had. Italy pulled away in overtime, but this was an incredible game from the first minute.

I didn't have much respect for Italy before this game, but I underestimated them. They are very good and they will be the favorite in the final. I hope that France beats Portugal and France wins the final, but I will not feel cheated if Italy wins.

Germany has a very young team, and 80% of the players we saw will be playing in 2010 as well.

The three factors why Germany lost imho were
a) Frings' ban
b) that Germany had to play 120 minutes against Argentina in the quarter finals, while Italy had a rather relaxed game in 90 minutes against Ukraine
c) The experience of the Italian player, which was too much for Germany's boys.

It will be a shame to see footballing institutes like Juventus and Milan shamed and dropped in that way but I quess the real punishment will come after the drop when they struggle to hold on to their biggest stars. I can't see many Juve players wanting to play serie C.
