Ok, I think the new Mazda 6 is a totally badass car. I just think it's an awesome all-around car and so far haven't heard any negatives about it. What do you guys think? Anyone own one or driven one?

it is a lot when you're only 17 and in a school with a $7100 tuition a year where you HAVE to pay part of it, not to mention the car i have right now and all the shit it's giving me.

It's a very nice car, but the HP is low on the base model. The Mazdaspeed version is a beast though. :bang: :bang:

Base model blows simply because it is an FF. The mazdaspeed is only slightly better because of the AWD, however it still is FF based, unlike the LanEvo's unique from the lancer 4WD...

Did you seriously go out of your way to find this two year old thread? Take a look at the posters in this thread, only one of them is still here. Congratulations, dumbass.

Your lucky actually. My school's tuition is a fucking whopping $18,500 a year!!!!
As for my answer to the question: Cool, but not something I would really go out to own. Definitely quite a cool car though, and a very nice handler.

Yeah, about 5 seconds after I posted, I looked and saw your post above mine, and then I realized........"woah, this is a really old thread!"
sorry bro.. but GOD666 is long gone.. :(
Actually :D that was my old name from 2 years ago, before there was the big deal with having multiple names here. So I stopped using that one eventually and kept this one. However, about the $18.5K tuition, WTF! That's ridiculous! I'm paying less for my college tuition than I did in high school (actually I'm not paying a damn cent of my tuition, full ride kicks ass, but I do have room and board; oh well).
I can't believe someone revived this post, holy hell. It was funny, when I saw the God666 name, I was like, "WTF?! that was MY name a long time ago." Then I realized it WAS my post

Yeah.........private school may have an educational advantage, but GODDAMN it costs alot!

Well I went to a pretty damn good private school; really good teachers and the school has had a 99% college turnover rate since the 50's. Really respectable place, except the administration sucks donkey nuts now. Anyway, I'm guessing the difference in tuition might be where you live?
I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, so schools around here are relatively cheap compared to other states.
Anyway, back onto the subject of this thread, I still like the Mazda 6 a lot, but as I believe Viper2004 said, the base model is a bit low on hp. The MazdaSpeed version is a lot better, even though the car is still more of a family car than anything.

Hey, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is recognized by most American insurance companies as a family car. Nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, but like anyone cares; at the end of the day, you're still driving a Ferrari.
The 6 is *just* a Mazda. There's a big difference. (sorry, I think I might have sounded like an ass right there, but that's now how I wanted it to come out)
But how is the 612 even considered a family car? What family needs a 12 cylinder car? The Andretti's? The Petty's? Ah, of course, the Schumachers.

No, it is because my school is really REALLY bad at using the money they have.

My car is a 04' Mazda 6s MTX, I love my car Im happy every morning when I wake up and know that I get to drive it to school. I paid for half and my parents covered the rest since its my graduation present... back on subject, I looked at every car I could possibly find, honestly like a years worth of looking through cars, and I still had to choose the 6. Has everything I wanted in a car and the price was right so I had to get it. All I've done to it so far is the intake and new wheels, has about 250 hp its plenty fast for me
Heres some pictures...

I got my wife the Mazda 6 Sport Wagon (2004)...Pretty good family car...a tad on the small side, for a family car, but gets good gas mileage and can haul most of our stuff (kid included). Haven't had any problems / complaints. I wouldn't own it for myself just because its FWD...but for the wife, its perfect. Good sound system. Decent family performance. I'd rather have a Maxima for her, but they don't come in a wagon version for hauling stuff - rear seats do fold flat and with that, you can cram a lot of stuff in there.
I know the tread's old, but someone might want the 411.
