Wow, what a retard. At first I thought he accidentally picked up the wrong pic and couldn't see it.But then he goes to point at the butterfly's head and says "look at that horse". How in the hell could you mistake a butterfly for a fucking horse? Jeez.

He clearly wasn't looking at it. The real dumb thing he did was at the end when he was saying he was "informed by his producer that it's a butterfly" and not making any humor out of his mistake. He just got all serious and acted like it was some scientific evidence handed to him by his producer.

probably because he felt about as dumb as a rock. he clearly pointed at the butterfly and circled his body saying it was a head. i would think he saw the picture. it may not have snapped in his head that it wasn't a horse but im pretty sure he saw the picture.

I like how he tries to redeem himself:
"Look at what the zoom did. you can see details in the antenna" :dunce:

My guess is that to improve the actual quality of the "blown up" picture, they used a green screen. So in reality he was just holding a green board. Someone must have told him it was a horse and the graphics guy put a butterfly up.
Or hes just a complete idiot.

I dont get how the hell he pointed to a spot and said "The bushy tale" and then he points like a cm. below it and says " The big teeth" Since when was the tale connected to the teeth of a horse..?!

i think that the picture was so big...and his angle was so steep looking down at it..that he wasnt really looking at the whole picture; rather, he was looking at the "body" part of the butterfly (moth), and thought the wings were part of the background. So in essence it was a picture of a horse from the top...
wait no, this makes no sense. Who would promote a camera's quality by showing a picture of a horse from the top? This guy's an idiot.

The latter is certainly a possibility.
And I don't think it was a green screen either.
But wait! Maybe, just maybe, on the back side (because that's what's facing him) of the blowup of the moth was a smaller print of the HORSE, which was supposed to have been put on the back of the blowup of the horse. (You ever watch Leno do "Headlines"? He always has a version of the text on the back for him to read, and the actual photo of the clipping is on the front side for the camera. Same thing when Letterman does Viewer Mail and other stuff.)
Someone on the staff may have attached the horse picture to the back of the wrong blow-up. (Or, if it's not attached, maybe the horse picture is off to the side or front, where he's looking, and someone just gave him the wrong blow-up altogether, and he didn't know because he's behind it.)
So maybe when his left hand comes around to point (and are we SURE that's his hand? It doesn't seem like he'd have enough room to stretch that far, if he was still holding it up) he's approximating where to point by looking at the smaller photo (the actual horse photo) in the back, or offscreen. Like a weatherman does.
I agree that the "tail" shouldn't be that close to the "teeth" (unless, when he said "tail" he meant "mane", which STILL makes him a moron), but that sort of supports the possibility that he wasn't actually looking directly at what he was pointing at (if it was him pointing).
I'm not saying these guys aren't idiots (ever see the clip where the guy falls off the ladder?), and the evidence could point that way too. I'm just giving the guy the benefit of the doubt...
