Alright, I realize that there is already a thread for metal covers, but I figured I'd make a thread for covers in general, so post the best, your favorite, or your least liked covers here from all genres.
Personally, my favorite cover of all time is the Ben Folds - Bitches Ain't Shit (Dr. Dre)
It's hilarious coming from a soft rock white guy on the piano, and yet, it's musically really fucking good at the same time.
Gary Jules - Mad World (Tears For Fears) and Foo Fighters - Down In The Park (Tubeway Army)

He means cover songs, not album covers.
A pianist by the name of Scott Lavender recorded an all-piano tribute to Iron Maiden and it's beastly. I personally enjoy his rendition of "Can I Play With Madness" more than the original.

Indeed, it's an awesome album. It's particularly effective because Maiden has so many melodies going on at once, and pianos are good for handling multiple melodies.

That's got to be the best song cover ever. Another good cover is Elliott Smith's cover of The Beatles' Because.

I think the best cover is All Along the Watch Tower, originally by Bob Dylan, covered by Jimi Hendrix.
Paul Anka did a whole cover CD that's awesome.
A punk band did a cover of Help! that was pretty good, but I can't remember who that is right now.
Here's a sight that has a hundred and one covers of Stairway To Heaven (I like Zappa's version).

April Wine did a pretty sweet cover of 21st Century Schizoid Man. Ozzy did an average job of it, but his version of Sunshine of Your Love isn't too bad.
I don't remember if it's been mentioned, but it surly will, the worst cover has got to be Korn's Another Brick In The Wall. It was already a crappy song (on Pink Floyd's standards) and they fucked it up even more.

Phish didn't play that. It's a common mistake though. I forget who played it, but it wasn't Phish.

I was positive that it was phish but upon further review bigmatt was right again. It was done by a group called the gourds.

That Tears for Fears song somebody mentioned is the best I know of. Also the Guns N' Roses versions of "Live and Let Die" and "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," and Pearl Jam's "Last Kiss."

Wait.. Acid Rain is a cover? I know Dream Theater has performed it, but I thought it was originally credited to LTE and DT was covering it.

I think it's a decent cover. It's got some pretty tight basswork.

That's just what it was downloaded as, and I've never listened to any Manson, bar a couple of songs.

I agree. I've always liked Anselmo, and it's a good cover of a good song. The solo is very tasteful.
It probably could have made it on to the Sabbath tribute albums if there weren't 1000 traditional/stoner doom bands putting forward their covers as well :D.

I downloaded this, it's awesome. I like Speak To Me Breath more than the original, and all the songs are good. Money and Brain Damage sound like different songs altogther though, but that's not a bad thing.

I don't really like the song. And Exhorder's Into the Void I think will forever be my favourite Black Sabbath cover. Unless Mekong Delta did a good cover of Black Sabbath (the song). I certainly like the Exhorder song more than I have ever liked Black Sabbath.
Demons & Wizards - Immigrant Song
Well, I like it.
Oh, and Megadeth - These Boots is a cover, isn't it?
The bleeping was only funny the first couple of times.
and Metallica - Blitzkreig

Except it was originally by Nine Inch Nails. It appeared on their 1994 album, "The Downward Spiral". The majority of the songs on Cash's "American IV: The Man Comes Around" are covers. Bridge Over Troubled Water, Personal Jesus, etc.
