View Full Version : PC games with good surround sound?

I just got a new 5.1 system, and i was wondering, aside from Doom 3, which games have really really killer surround sound. I wanna test it out, but D3 just isn't enough, I NEED MORE! Suggestions?

Battlefeild 2 , Call of duty . basically any war game that has alot of sound going on

The new Ghost Recon would probably benefit from good surround sound. Doom 3 was pretty much the ultimate as far as my surround sound was concerned, it was simply unmatched with clarity. If you didn't think the Doom 3 surround sound was sufficient, you'll probably be disappointed.

IMO it's the best one for sound, i'm just wondering if there are any more that match the quality of sound brought to the table by D3.

I'd go with a military simulation. War, or tactical. They have a lot going on.

Call of Duty, I can't think of anyother game that has great ambient sounds. Myabe the Ghost Recon series....you can hear when someone is walking behind you.

Quake 4 is great with surround sound.

I used to play that game, and with my shity speakers, I would almost shit my pants because that game feels so real. I can only imagine how intense it would be with surround sound.

And the best part is, AA is a free game created by our military, so you should definetly download it. (it was free when I used to play, maybe they changed it now...)

i got 7.1 surround sound speakers for my PC and BF2 is perfect for it. sometimes i'll put the subwolfer right under my chair to give me the effect of actually driving a vehicle.

when aircrafts fly by, you can actually hear it come from one direction coming closer and then it passes you and fade away into another direction. as for other games, i don't know, i haven't been playing anything lately.

Still free, i've had and have been playing it for a while now, just tried it out on my speakers, wow, i can definitely see myself getting into this game again, thanks.
