there are tons of good RPG for the SNES that never made it outside of Japan. if you use an SNES emulator, you can actually dl those games and patch it with these files:http://www.rpgclassics.com/trans/snestrans.shtml for English translation. those are all RPGs that most people never knew existed.
Note: that site contains English translation patch files, not actual roms which you will also need.
for the actual roms, try this site: http://romhustler.net/roms/snes
you will also need to dl the patching tool here: http://www.rpgclassics.com/trans/howtopatch.shtml
good Japanese SNES RPG i've tried are: Albert Odysssey, Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest Series, Final Fantasy Series that never made it outside of Japan, and many more.

Final Fantasy III/VI (Probably the best RPG on SNES.)
Chrono Trigger (I know you already said it, but tied with FF3/6 for best RPG.)
Super Mario RPG (As mentioned, excellent game.)
Earthbound (Another excellent one.)
Illusion of Gaia
Secret of Mana
Lufia 1/2

Earthbound is way too hit or miss. I love the universe, but the game is so one dimensional and easy, obviously made for a much much younger audience.

What would you guys reccoment to start off someone who never got into the whole Zelda, Secret of mana, Original Final Fantasy Scene. Or hasn't played any of them?

rofl, the FF series isn't any harder.
All of the Enix/Quintet games are good: Soul Blazer, Terranigma, Illusion of Gaia, Robotrek, Actraiser, E.V.O: The Search for Eden. Those are mostly action rpgs. Uncharted Waters: New Horizons is a niche game but its a ton of fun if it fits you. Secret of Mana/of Evermore/SD3. Shadowrun is alright, but the Genesis version was better imo. Treasure Hunter G is pretty cool. The original Star Ocean and Ogre Battle games.
And PALADIN'S QUEST. Get it now.
Crusader of Centy, Shadowrun and Shining Force games are the only good ones I can think of for Genesis.

Are you asking which you should get into first, or are you looking for alternatives? For the former, A Link to the Past, Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy 4 are probably the best starting places for most people.

Harvest Moon for the SNES. May not be the kind of RPG you're thinking of though.
