When it comes to listening to real metal, you have to start small, like listen to newer metallica, work back, and when you like their old shit as the best, then it's time to expand to Black Sabbath, Pantera, Ozzy, Black Label Society, Killswitch Engage, Soilwork, In Flames, and then you can try listening to old school shit. I never liked alot of the bands I listen to today off the bat..............It took my a LONG time to listen to Megadeth/Maiden/Priest/Iced Earth and other bands, but once I got used to it, I can't go back.............You can't throw someone a Megadeth CD if they aren't into metal, they won't listen to it, hell, I didn't. It took time. File sharing progs are also your friend in your search for true metal! \m/

I see that many of you don't know what TRUE metal is. Well, let me tell you something. "Heavy" riffs (like Korn's, Slipknot's and shit like that) are so simple and crappy that a kid could play them. Their alright, a couple years ago I would have said they were the best, but then I learned. Powerslave, Killers, are their best albums followed by Number of the Beast and Iron Maiden. My favorite song of their's has got to Hallowed be thy Name though. I bought No Pray for the Dying and their newest Dance of the Dead, or whatever it is, and they aren't that good.
To me most of their other albums are hit and miss, they have some good songs in them like Be Quick or be Dead but most of them aren't up to par.

EDIT: Anyways, hair metal is a love or hate relationship. You either really love it like me, or really hate it like bones. It took the best elements of pop music and fused it in with the best elements of hard rock and metal. I think the reason why it gets such a bad rap is cause a lot of people, especially on the interwebs, dislike any form of pop music no matter how it is packaged and how much merit it may have.

its excellent. cant believe how much paul d,ianno has changed. still think bruce dickinson is the best vocalist. steve harris is definately the man though. whats your favourite tracks?.

No official word when it will be released, but my guess is probably some time around October time.

In the mean time though, there is a Bruce solo DVD due in May, if you like his stuff (if not, why not?)

Anyone else seeing Maiden's Winter tour? I'm seeing them on the 23rd December so do you think they'll put on a special Christmas show? I can certainly imagine all the boys in Christmas hats on stage.
