Possibly the best band in the world...

i'm not a big concert guy so i dont know what bands do...

do they come to the united states or no..cause they are in japan right now, when do they come to the US?

ya i dont no y some ppl hate coldplay so much. i think theyr a great rock band. i mean if ur a hvy metal person i can see y, but their songs are great non the less.

Yeah. I listen to a lot of death metal but I like Coldplay. Sure I don't think they're the best band ever (Radiohead is much better), but I like them and I hate the constant criticism they get.

Having said that, I haven't listened to X & Y yet, so I don't know whether I can judge fairly.

Coldplay is a good band, great mellow music. Some of their songs sound similar, but still good.

Yeah, they're an alright band. I'm suprisingly indifferent towards coldplay. It's almost like I have no opinion on them whatsoever. I actually dig chris martin's vocals though .. I don't hate them but I don't really love them. I'd probably like them better if they would ditch their new fascination towards U2 .. not saying U2 sucks, but they sound a lot like U2 in their recent music.

Coldplay is kickass live. Saw them in Sacramento and it was awsome.

Dude, I love heavy Metal bands like Still Remains, It dies today, In Flames... and sht like that, but I also kind of like Coldplay...

Having said that, I haven't listened to X & Y yet, so I don't know whether I can judge fairly.
It's pretty good, especially because of the bonus song that Johnny Cash was going to record before he died, yet I still think A Rush of Blood to the Head is their best so far.

Their next album is supposedly going to be darker and faster with no pianos, so maybe they'll expand their fanbase a good bit if it's good.

I saw Coldplay at Glastonbury last year. Their show was alright, nothing spectacular. Would have thought they would have put more into it with the fact that they were headlining the Pyramid Stage and all.

I can't say I'm a fan, but their first album, Parachutes, isn't that bad. I could listen if it was on and enjoy it. I don't find their new material too good. I think they lost it. Especially the new album, X&Y. I can't stand anything on that album.

ya i totally agree with u. like someone else said, a rush of blood to the head is their best, and x y just isnt as good. theres just something different that i dont like about it. oh, and speed of sound is waaaaaaay to similar to clocks.

I took three of their cds while I was robbing music from my friend's mp3 player... I don't know, I just don't really care for them much... I mean they're ok, but for me they just seem kinda blah... I want to like them, but it seems like all of their music just kind of blends together in a generic rock mess, and it hasn't been able to hook me at all.

Coldplay are another band that I'm 'undecided' on, but I'm gradually filing them into the category 'OK as background noise'.
The missus bought their latest album, and she plays it a lot, and some of the songs are okay I suppose... they're a bit...... bland.... yeah, bland is the only word I can think of to describe them.

To me, they're a band you can only hear on the radio. Listening to a CD becomes too repetitive, too fast, but they're nice in small doses.
