Just go to Isohunt.com and use that. It searches a whole lot of different torrent sites.

Go out and by the albums, support the artist. You should go to www.cdnow.com and hear some song samples of various artist they mentioned to you on that other thread of yours. Hear them, if you like them, go buy the album. Stop being cheap, help and support these artist because all they get in return is unfaithful fans.

I'm not gonna decide to buy an album after hearing the first 30 seconds of each song. Download the music, don't share it with anybody, and if you like it, buy it.

Well lets just hope he can sustain that type of thinking.

you DO know artists get little to nothing of album sales, most of it goes to the record label. If you wanna really support the band, buy merch.

I was just getting ready to post that, before I saw yours.....actually buying the album gives VERY little money to the actual artist, so people who say that its 'supporting' them are full of BS.

If you want your money to actually help out the band members themselves, buy merch and go to their live shows. Thats where its at.

Like spine shavings said, Torrenttyphoon is good.

I used to use www.filemp3.org a while back. But all the big ones like Mininova, Demonoid, Isohunt, Piratebay and Torrentspy are good.

And I agree. Buying CDs isn't supporting the artists. The record companies like to make downloaders look like the bad guys, when they're really the bad guys making exorbitant amounts of money while the artists suffer. Go to the concerts, buy the merchandise, but don't worry about buying CDs.

Download a program called Torrent Harvester - it searches loads of trackers.

Start with SoulSeek(http://www.slsknet.org/download.html) and when you get ALOT of rare music, head to DC++ and go in a public hub. If you get lucky (lots of rare music and good upload rates) you might get invited to a private hub. These private hubs are usually gold mines for rare music and you can find pretty much whatever you want.

http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/ = DC++

What a sad way to justify your actions, have you ever thought about the independent recording labels?

A lot of people don't feel the need to justify it.

As for me, I don't buy music, but I've made donations to bands. So that ensures that the band receives more money and I pay less. :)

True enough, most don't have what it takes it seems.

I used to use http://torrenttyphoon.com but I don't like it that much anymore. I would rather use http://torrentscan.com

It has all the major torrent sites, plus a few more, and it gets you way better results than typhoon.

Thanks for that - another tracker to bookmark. :)

I've gone back to DC++ in the last couple of days, and it definitely is the best for finding rare stuff.

But here's a hint - don't go to the Black Mass hub if you're sharing music of any band which is remotely known by more than 3 people. I went in there seeking doom metal and got banned... and what was the message? "Banned for sharing heavy metal and Emperor". What the fuck!?! They're bloody black metal elitists. It's possibly why there were only 10 people in that hub.

By all means, if you're sharing something which they won't bitch about, then you'll find some pretty rare stuff.

Use Azureus, it's the best bittorrent client out there, open up ports 6880 and or 6881, you're downloading at an automatic 200kb/s, if you're getting a heavily seeded torrent. Also, try www.mininova.org under the music section, never takes me more than half an hour to get a full album. Hope this helps!
