Anyone into this band?

Very mellow classic rock band , similar to yes.

Varying Time Signatures and Tempos, awesome vocal harmony, think a mellow king crimson.

Anything off the "octopus" album is brilliant..

For limewire downloaders id recommend getting the songs "Free hand" "Knots" and "The Advent of Panurge"

Check em out.

Gentle Giant is a great band and I'm glad that somebody here knows about them. And I can see what you mean when you say they're like a mellow King Crimson. They're both fairly dissonant at times.

What albums do you have?

Haha I had a feeling youd be one of the repliers temp.

I have Octopus, Free Hand, and Acquiring the Taste.

I try to stick with the early stuff before they dumbed themselves down to make it more reachable to a wider audience. But theyre early 70's work is their raw genius and musicianship in its prime. They were really ahead of their time.

A mellow version of King Crimson? I really didn't think such a thing could exist.

I'll check them out.

Yeah, I know (some of) their music.
I wouldn't say I was a huge fan of theirs though; their music always seemed a bit... well, messy to me, as in trying to mix too many instruments and too many different musical genres together.
I've got two of their albums, and their titles slip my mind at the moment, but I haven't played them in well over ten years.

Gentle Giant kicks ass. I have their album The Power and the Glory on Vinyl. I love Proclamation and Cogs in Cogs.

I also have Free Hand, Three Friends, Acquiring the Taste, and Octopus on CD.

They are nothing like Yes but they are ok.

Haha, well its hard as hell to compare progressive bands being their unique and changing nature, but I thought of the changing time sigs.

Actually a better comparison would be to Van Der Graaf Generator, another kick ass prog band everyone should give a listen. Anything off Pawn Hearts, their glory album.
