A happy ending.

To bad for the other U.S., Italian and Japanese hostages though.

Yeah, Mami is right. He ran about a mile towards the Americans. That took some guts. I would have been thinking someone was going to shoot me in the back (but I still would have done it). God bless him. Glad he got away.

Yeah that took courage. Now it's only a matter of time before they make a TV movie about him

Until I hear what happened officially, I'm gonna remain sceptical his 'heroic' escape. For all we know, the Iraqis just let him go. It wouldn't be the first time.

You just would have been happier if they executed him.

No, I just know that these stories have a habit of being exaggerated. Like the story of that Jessica Lynch girl.

only because she is a pretty lil white girl who fit the mold of what america wanted to publcize in order to garner support for the "good guys". Its such a load- but that is in fact how it hapened Viceroy with that Hamil guy. He heard the convoy & ran about a mile or half a mile to it. why would that be so unbelievable anyway? He heard his chance to escape & he took it- wouldnt you? You ppl are so fuckin critical about every goddamn last minute detail. He escaped point blank. I doubt the iraqis would have willingly let him go.

Absolutely! God bless this man and his family. Not only did he escape, but he also voluntarily took the American soldiers back to where he was being held, at which 2 of his captors were then detained. (this according to an interview with one of the soldiers from the 108th Infantry on FoxNews). Now THAT takes some guts.

I'd just like to know all the facts, before I praise this guy for running half a mile, through hostile territory, to an American patrol.

Judging by his appearance, he'd have trouble running 100 yards, let alone half a mile. :D

I am happy for the guy for comming home to his family alive, but I smell another Jessica Lynch news whoreing attempt

Eh, I'm thinking that anyone deployed to Iraq has to be in some kind of shape. And really Viceroy, be reasonable, the guy was running for his life. A 350 pound man could have run a half a mile for his own life.

you know the saying "every cloud has a silver lining"- well with Viceroy its replaced by soot.

Yep, look at pro football players. They have to be able to run that kind of distance at the least. And they're not exacly light-weights.

Yeah, but the heaviest guys (like the quarter backs) don't do most of the running, right? Plus, they're mostly muscle.

LOL, what? Learn the sport of football before you talk. The quarterbacks are like a feather compared to the offensive and defensive line. Even those guys could probably run that far. Yes, the QB's don't do most of the running, unless you're Michael Vick or Coulpepper. Plus, they're mostly muscle? Does that make them really slow?

HAHAHAHAHA, I thought you were an expert on America? Quarterbacks are the heaviest guys on the football field, thats a good one. Shut your mouth.

By the way, the Japanese hostages have been released and they're now accused of possibly staging it all up.

Since you're from UK, just think in terms of rugby. Big guys running 100m under 12seconds.
