Didn't like Load, Reload that much, and I hated St. Anger! What the hell was with that hollow snare? Complex Lyrics, the ability to Accually SING them (not like the overrated BEATLES). our Lady Peace is definatleyt up there on my list. A top 5 for sure. In terms of talent The Jimi Hendrix Experience must be the best. You just can't compare the guitarists out of bands like Metallica and Offspring to Jimi Hendrix. Don't get me wrong, I like the Offspring etc. very much, it's just they don't have the skills of Jimi. Also, bands like The Darkness or Led Zeppelin. I like to be able to listen to a song and be impressed by the guitarist, to have solos that when you hear, you think, "holy shit". I think that's the problem with most bands these days, no solos.

Anyway; Jimi Hendrix, The Darkness, The Strokes, stuff like that is my favourite.

Get the song "Under A Glass Moon". If you appreciate progressive music, you should love it.

Jimmy Page is definetly one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

He's not as big of a standout in guitarists as John Bonham is a standout in drummers.

PS - Did you know that Plant wrote the lyrics for Stairway to Heaven in half an hour, while he was drunk, but it took Page several weeks to compose the music? :D

Actually, It was Page who Wrote the lyrics while he was drunk, in his house that was previously owned by Aliester Crowley, who built his house over the ground a church had burned down on, and that inspired the lyrics, in some way, as I recall. he did a lot of drugs.

Anyway, for me it's either King diamond (influnenced lots of Black and Death metal bands, Andy la Roque is insamely underrated, I think) on the Metal side of things, but the Beatles really made Rock and roll a household thing and started making heavy mainstream music.
