Don't know how many times this has been posted, but I finally figured out how to beat the pearl game. If anyone else spent as much time as I did getting frustrated on that one, hopefully this will help:

1. You go first. Take all pearls but two from the longest row.
2. The evil guy will take another pearl from that row leaving one.
3. You take all the pearls from the shortest row.
4. Mr. Evil Guy will take one from the row with 4 pearls.
5. You take 3 from the row with 5 in it.
6. Mr. Evil Guy will take one from the row that now has three in it.
7. You take the one pearl sitting by itself.
8. Mr. E.G. will take one of the pearls, doesn't matter which.
9. You take both pearls from whichever row is left with two in it.
10. Mr E.G. will go bug-eyed and storm away... feel free to cackle your head off.

I wish I could explain why this works. It's really hard to without visual reference. Just pay close attention to the number of pearls in each row at the end of each turn, it's a balance game of odds and evens. The one pearl by itself is your safety net, to allow you to balance it out. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but hopefully if you follow the steps you'll see what i'm talking about. There are other solutions, but this is the one that illustrates the point most simply. Feel free to email me or reply here if you have any questions.

There are many solutions.
the ONLY ways you can win (against him) if you go first is if...

Like the above states, take all but 2 from the row with 6....OR
take all but 1 from the row with 5.

Those 2 are the ONLY ways you can win against him if you start...
If he starts...
there are many patterns that you must make for him...if you leave him with patters like the following...you will win.

1-2-3
2-4-6

patters with doubles... for example

2-2-4-4
3-3-5-5
1-1-2-2

or single doubles

2-2
4-4

anything like this...
it must be HIS turn when these patters are set out.

I was partially wrong before....you can also start out by taking the entire row with 4 pearls...leaving 3-5-6

By the way...once you win, another flash thing comes up. if you move your curser over the pimp (thats what i call the pearl guy) you can play version 3...this is harder..hahaha..harder
HAVE FUN

All I did was play the game in two windows; letting him go first in one and copying his moves on the other.

you said in the second step that he would take 1 leaving only 1 pearl left in the row of what used to be 6. but he never takes that pearl for me. he always goes to the row of four and eliminates 3 of them. this is gay

How do you cheat by using two windows?

On one you go first and on the other let him go on the one where he goes first copy whatever he does on the other window

Wow, I'm kinda flattered this thread has stayed alive this long. Sorry i never responded to the questions asking for help.. I don't really check this board very frequently.

If anyone needs help with this game and the guy doesn't follow the pattern I originally posted (which will happen about 10-25% of the time) then feel free to email me at DJ_LiquidIce@hotmail.com and I'll help when I can.

I have seen a number of suggestions to win this game. The first thing I did was start finding winning patterns, such as when you have two rows to keep them even, or other patterns such as 1 2 3, 1 4 5, 2 4 6, etc. Eventually you can find enough of these to make a table of winning combinations. This works, but only for small games. The binary solution is the only truly unbeatable way to play no matter how many rows there are. Juan has the advantage of being able to calculate his moves with this method, so he will win as soon as you make one mistake.

I was pretty much determined to beat this guy, so I created a program that will solve any pearl game you can throw at it, with up to 5 rows of pearls. I tested it for about 17 levels of Pearls 3 before quitting. Of course, the game isn't much fun anymore because you can't lose. But it's perfect if you just want revenge on Juan, or need a hint after you've gotten stuck at a certain level on Pearls 3. So check it out!

Thanks for helping us out. I can finally be at peace. LOL.

I thought it was setted up from where you can never win. It turns out I was wrong.
