What do you all think the some of the founding fathers of america would think of the current situation in Iraq and the state of our economy and other important issues of today? If they had been able to witness everything that's happened since 9/11, what do you think their views would be on how Bush handled everything?

Our founding fathers would have conquered the whole middle east.

Edit: Hell, our founding fathers would have actually probably invaded the middle east in the 70s to conquer it for oil.

The founding fathers did not want to get involved in many wars.

No, not at all. Not like raping the west for resources or trying to take canada and mexico.

Yup. Not to mention the founding fathers would consider muslims heathens and barbarians that deserve conquering for their resources not unlike the native americans.

The founding fathers did not want to become involved in any entangling military alliances. There is a huge difference.

Neutrality - unless fucked with.

Oh, havent mentioned taxes yet.

Our founding fathers would be appaled by our extreme overtaxation. They would cut government services and taxes. They would tax no more than 5-10%, primarily to pay for maintaining a skeletal military force that could facilitate a draft if war was needed. They may pay for roads in modern times, a judicial system, and the FBI and CIA.

There would be no government charity. You would not get welfare or social security. Afterall, that is something that churches should do.

The founding fathers would be horrified at the huge federal government that interferes in every aspect of our lives. They believed in minimal government intrusion and indivdual liberty.

America has changed so much in the past 230 years that much of what they wanted is no longer practical.

America has changed so much in the past 230 years that much of what they wanted is no longer practical. Translation: Too many people suck at the tit of government now to possibly go back to their self responsible minimalistic style of government.

Is it not true? If the government suddenly reverted to how the founding fathers designed it, would people not cry like babies and be helpless?
