Anyone else love this guy? (http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/3957/jfgallery126bq2.jpg)

I think he's just a joy to watch on stage. If you've ever seen RHCP live, you'll know what I mean. The way he and Flea jam (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHcF1cUjrKg) between songs. The way he improvises (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KybmWdP7mDY) all his solos. His weirdly high voice (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3Q_6I0018c) is also a joy to listen to. I can't get enough of watching him and Red Hot Chili Peppers perform. He's just awesome. Yay? Or nay?

John Frusciante is my favorite guitarist today. He's probably the driving force behind RHCP (Ya know, besides Flea) and his solo stuff rocks too.

He's my favourite guitarist on Earth.

Anyway, here's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFDoIbEtHEI&mode=related&search=) a video of Frusciante covering the Bee Gee's How Deep is Your Love .

Being a Bee Gees song the guitarwork is a bit meh, but fuck Frusciante has an amazing voice. He has no trouble hitting the high notes either.

A video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwwD2AgSFa4&mode=related&search=) of the Past Recedes... cool acoustic solo.

I love Frusciante, hes awesome, i dont like his solo stuff much and his whole "melodic" sense... I liked him a lot more when he just joined the band back in Mother's Milk and played straight-up funk, but hell anything the man does is amazing.

His albums from the 90s that he made for drug money are actually great - very experimental

I haven't heard any of his solo stuff (may just have to look into that)...but I do love his work in RHCP.

And btw, who wants to tell me how you pronounce his last name?

I agree. Check out "A Song To Play When I'm Lonely" and "Murderers" to the uninformed.

I just can't get into him and I don't think he is even that good. His early Chili Peppers stuff is ok, but his solo stuff is ear piercing and atonal. Vastly overrated.

I used to pronounce it Froo-Sah-Kahn-Tay, which I still do occacionally because I think it sounds cooler. Italians really do have the most badass last names.

He's not Italian...

Edit: I don't know if you were implying he was Italian or not. I guess Frusciante is an Italian name?

Which albums have you heard of his solo stuff?

Some of his solo albums are very experimental, and others are very melodic.

Well, I just got 'Niandra Ladies & Usually Just a T-Shirt'. I only had random songs before.

And what can I say? I am very fucking impressed with it. It's amazing, melodic, psychedelic, experimental... it's just great full stop.

EDIT: I love this!!!
