....one of your favorite bands?

For me it was probably when I was in the toilet in the cinema and Enter Sandman came on as the 'toilet music'. That's the last song I thought would come on. Yourselves?

I was in Hollister the other day (shopping with my girlfriend) and generally they play pretty shitty music in there, but on that day they played "Californication" and "Get On Top" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers one after another, it was good.

I was in my schools locker room locker room getting my equipment when all of a sudden Led Zeppelin started playing. I was suprised because usually they blast all that mainstream rap shit.

My sister was watching MTV Cribs, I walked by and heard a familiar sound. It was Primus, "Jerry Was A Racecar Driver", playing in the background as some guy toured his house. Primus on MTV, wierd.

Train In Vain by The Clash at Chili's and Walgreens (they also played November Rain by Guns N Roses like a year ago. It was badass.) in the same week.
Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones at my school, but it was only on for like 30 seconds. They also once played Aerosmith.

Hard Rock Cafe they play all of my favorites, but one that stands out is Van Halen - Running With the Devil

Edit: And at school in history class my teacher played Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA and then gave us a homework assignment for the next day to name a song and band that sings about some history related topic.
I didn't do it cause i'm cool like that.

Reminds me of the first sememster of 9th grade, we had keyboarding and the teacher would let the kids bring music to play in a cd player. All they stuff they brought was either kelly clarkson or some country. Then I brought a few death metal cds and they were like "this sucks" and turned it off as soon as possible. I would have to listen to their crap for a whole class and they won't even give my music a chance.

On VH1 I seriously hear some good music, on shows like "Hollywoods Eating Disorders" they always have Foo Fighters, QOTSA, Eagles of Death Metal, and crazy good bands. It just cracks me up to see Nicole Richie, and then here "Learn to Fly" in the background.

I would have to say VH1. They always have great background music that doesn't stand out unless you know it. I remember hearing some Daft Punk and Radiohead. That's all that rings any bells at this point.

That hollywood insider show on CNN, I don't remember the name of it right now. I just know it comes on after that devil woman nancy grace. They play radiohead, tool, among some others as their background music while introducing guests. They usually play the same stuff alot too. "Parabola" and "I Might be Wrong" come to mind.

I know what you mean dude. It makes me so angry :banghead:

As soon as my mate put Mettalica on the girls were all bitching and shit "ooh turn it off, i hate it!" and complaining to the teacher "sir make them turn it off, its giving me a headache"

Good thing my teacher is a heavy metal fan and he told me after class he felt like smashing the stereo if he had to hear another "faggy pop song" lol

In Tower Records, I heard Jaco Pastorius' song "Liberty City" playing in their Jazz section, and Porcupine Tree's "Mellotron Scratch" playing in the genera rock/pop section, AT THE SAME TIME. It was awesome, but naturally I stayed in the jazz section.

they once put the radio on the wrong station at the grocery store that i work at. i got to hear all of 46&2 and then Stinkfist by Tool, back to back, before they finally ended up switching to the boring, "nonoffensive" and "safe" wussy music. * that was the best 10-minute pot break in the bathroom that i've ever had. i even managed to jerk one out before going back to work. i didn't wash my hands.

*nothing after this point is true

Just got back from wal-mart, and they had BeastieBoys - Fight for your right playing. It was a refreshing change from all the "safe" music they play. Even the cashier was bumping his head.

I hate it when grocery and retail stores play all this Non-offensive, pop crap. So my friend one time he worked at a wal-mart and he had access to the rado and he switched it to the rock staton and when people started complaining he apologized, so he switched it to the rap staton:lol:

He got fired lol.

I met the missus in a "trendy wine bar" for lunch today, and as I walked in I caught the last minute or so of Deep Purple's "Might Just Take Your Life".
I asked the barman if they played Deep Purple's music a lot and he just looked at me with this blank stare as if to say "what the fuck are you on about?", so I just paid the bill and left.

I was on the bus one time and a paki at the back of the bus was blasting Grime on his phone when suddenly Pantera\'s Walk came on

Personally, I\'d prefer grime but it\'s nice to see folks being open-minded

Last week in the store Image at the mall.

It's a guido/clubber type store that sells really expensive clothing like armani, diesel, and stuff like that. They always blast rap and techno.

I went in there to pick up some asics last week and while I was in there, they played some system of a down and some chevelle. I was so happy :D

Lawlz, when I was at Bestbuy like a few months ago...these guys put this song on very, very loud, I guess the employees were too lazy to go and make them turn it down/off...this isn't the type of song you'd listen in the car with your parents :uhoh:
