Oh fuck. Did you really have to put that on the main page? last thing we need is another debate in this section of the forum.

Oh well, gotta admit those are well-made renders.

Seeing as how the DNA in pigs and gnats are more similar to humans than monkeys, I'm going to go with...

Creationism>Evolution

Please stop , right now. This isnt a debate on it. Its just a thread about the pictures.

Which I must say , are pretty cool. Its strange to look at creatures like that with a face so human-like. Id be scared shitless to have one staring at me.

Because the pig and human genomes are similar

http://www.genomenewsnetwork.org/articles/05_02/mouse_053102.shtml
Fourteen genes on mouse chromosome 16 are not found in humans. All the others—more than 700 mouse genes—have counterparts in the human genome, most of which are grouped together and in the same order as in the mouse genome.

It turns out that 50% of fly proteins are similar to known mammalian proteins.
More than 90% of mouse proteins are similar to known human proteins.

http://www.nationalreview.com/comment/comment062700a.htmlI only skimmed through the articles, but I don't see where any of those say that pig DNA is closer to a human's than a monkey's. None of your quotes did anything to prove this.

I only ever heard that chimpanzee are the closest related species, as we share 98.4% of our DNA with them.

SHUT UP. WE DID NOT EVOLVE FROM MONKEYS. WE SHARE A COMMON ANCESTOR, THAT'S IT. To end the debate right now, creationism has NO support, evolution does. End of conversation. Show me proof of god and maybe we can start an actual discussion. Until then, keep your idiocy and misconceptions to yourself. Just because you can't understand evolution certainly doesn't mean that it isn't true, and CERTAINLY does not support creationism.

Anyways... Interesting pictures, I hope people can appreciate them as what they are - art - and not argue about them. They're obviously completely inaccurate, no one's saying they aren't, but that's ok - it's art.

I fucking hate this kind of debate, because there are NEVER any good arguments against Evolution. Evolution is a fact, Evolution is the most logical thing. Creatures adapting and changing through natural selection.

see, I was fucking right about a debate starting.

Evolutionists: Show proof of God or there is no ID
Creationists: Show proof of initial biogenesis/Big Bang or there is no evolution

To very cliché arguments that are overused and too-heavily-relied upon because neither can be refuted given the evidence we have. And there are a hundred similar arguments.

The circle goes on and on.

Ohh this is not such a smart comment because it ignores that the answer if ther is a god or not has nothing to do with evolution or creationism. Even the fucking Pope belives in Evolution and i hope the pope belives in God so dont mix u relgious people and these creationist fuckers from Kenntucky or whatever

Actually, creationism is technically a theory where a 'higher being' created everything. BUT that's just a euphemism for the christian god, as I'm sure 99% of creationists are referring to the christian god when they say 'higher being'.

There are actually many theories about biogenesis. I believe they did an experiment where they shot a model asteroid into a model of primordial soup (pretty accurate models, mind you) and primitive proteins, amino acids, etc. were produced. It's no huge leap of imagination to picture these elements forming into bacteria. Voila.

NOW LISTEN. The main difference between darwinist arguments and creationist arguments is this: I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS NO PROOF OF GOD, BUT I DO NOT USE THIS AS PROOF OF EVOLUTION. EVOLUTION HAS ENOUGH PROOF FOR ITSELF.

Creationists, however, try to 'prove' that evolution has insufficient proof, and USE THAT AS AN ARGUMENT FOR CREATIONISM.

That's an obvious argumental fallacy, the classic 'either-or' one. Just because someone didn't turn right doesn't mean they turned left. What if they went straight, or turned backwards?

Why is it so hard for people to believe that both science, and religion, or the physical and spiritual, co-exist in this endless cycle called life? Isn't it possible that God made the existence of everything, the universe itself, the stars and "heaven", and Earth? And on Earth, evolution was an inevitable happening, the plan of God perhaps, the laws of life. And thus, do we stand tall as bipedal beings whom worship an almighty, and all loving entity?

And there is proof of God, try astral-projection, try meditation, try prayer, try understanding spiritual practices and the marvelous unexplainable mysterious they present for the human race. The countless stories of miracles, near death experiences that all form the tale of an afterlife, the reporting of the supernatural, the fact that every human being has seen or experienced something that cannot be explained in any science textbook? No proof in God, I think not. No proof of evolution, certainly not. Room for both, heck, why not?
