how do you get to level thirty in the single races to unlock enigne swaps? I only have a level two single race score, and I can't figure out how to get it higher.

just go 2 tha single races and beat 30 cars.

Alright I'll explain, since it took me awhile to figure it out myself, go to single race and you'll see a list (http://forum.ebaumsworld.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=14179&stc=1) to your left. Keep beating the newest car on the list. After you beat one another will appear and so on. After you beat 30 you'll unlock engine swaps.
