Saw a newer trailer for the Spider-man sequel, looks incredible. I had doubts about them being able to put together a good story that tied in Doc Ock but the trailer makes it look like they pulled it off perfectly and set up the story for Spider-man 3 which I will place money on seeing the return of the Green Goblin as Harry Osbourne. It seems like they have set it up perfectly.

The previews for the 1st movie didn't impress me too much, but the movie ended up being good. These previews for the 2nd one look awesome, so I'm expecting the movie to be really good.

I never followed the comics. Is that what happened in the comics?? It only makes sense I guess, otherwise there's no real reason for him to be around for Spiderman 2. Looks incredible though.

Yeah, in the comics Norman Osbourne, played by Willam Defoe in the last one, is the original Green Goblin and he is impaled by his glider after throwing Gwen Stacy who was Spider-man's lover interest before MJ to her death from a bridge in New York. Similar to the movie except it wasnt MJ and the girl dies in the comic. Also similar to how it appears it is turning out to be in the movie, Harry blames Spider-man for the death and is eventually driven insane when he finds out Peter is Spider-man and discovers the truth about his father. He then takes his father's place and returns as the second Green Goblin. Its one of the best mini-stories that has come out of the Spider-man comics. I am impressed that it is the one they chose to turn into a movie of course they arent follwoing it completely since Doc Ock didnt have anything to do with it which is why I was very surprised to find out he was the next villian. Looks like they tied him in nicely though. I will honestly be surprised if this isnt how it turns out considering how the trailer looks. I should probably wait to see the whole movie first before I make any judgements. Either way, its gonna be sick.

Wow, I wish I would've read the comics. Sounds pretty good. After what you said, I'm glad they decided not to make him return as the Green Goblin for the second one (if that is in fact what they eventually plan to do). I think a different, more powerful villain is what makes sequels so good. Take Superman II for instance (in my opinion, THE greatest superhero sequel ever), how much would it have sucked if only Lex Luther would've returned as the villain???

Yeah I agree with the need to change it up but you cant forget that with Harry as the reborn Green Goblin there is the addition of the highly personal relationship between good and bad. They are best friends, almost brothers, and they are trying to kill each other.

Aren't they already in the middle of making Spiderman IV?

Hmm, not sure about that one. I know that everyone is signed for 'III', not sure how much filming has been done though. Haven't heard a word about 'IV' though.

They havent begun filming for three. They are in the middle of contract negotiations I believe.

Oh, I just heard, around the time the first one came out, that they had signed a contract for 4 films.

Dont talk about Spider-man anymore. The Hobgoblin is an entirely different villain. Harry was the second Green Goblin and that is what he was called, the Green Goblin.

I am completely confused on the goblin situation, but I know their's also a Demogoblin where did he come from, and who is he?

This site should help. It explains every Spidey character you would ever like to know about including all the Goblins, Green, Hobby, and Demo.

Jesus, how can you follow the line of all those goblins? Or spider man clones? Or half of those other guys that are actually 3 different people?

lol, I even used to be into comics back in middle/high school, but I never knew even 1/5 of this stuff.

Well some are obviously more important. The first two Green Goblins are the most important and Macendale is the most important and well known Hobgoblin. Demogoblin is only one. The other great bad guys such as Venom, Carnage, Electro, Doc Ock are one and onlys. Also the Vulture while being taken up by multiple people only has one that really counts.

I'm not being disagreeable for the sake of it, but, I thought Spiderman was a bunch of arse.

It had that tosser from Speed 2 as the bad guy. I mean, what a crock of shit.

I heard this..I'm not sure if its true..but if the story continues on, Isn't the guy Mary Jane is about to marry in fact the one who goes to space and gets the black alien suit, which then becomes Venom?

Maybe, I did hear a rumor that they wanted to tie in Venom eventually, that might be the way to do it.
