Soundboard Prank Calling Contest (Winner Gets Premium!)

I've run a couple contests in Picture section and they have been pretty successful. It's now time to give this section some attention and the users here a chance at a premium account. Here's the contest details/rules...

You have to make and post a George Bush Soundboard prank call. The soundboard is officially unreleased and only a few people have a copy of it right now. Those who enter the contest will be given a copy of the soundboard by me.

Rules:
1 - You can submit a maximum of 5 calls for the contest.
2 - The calls must be of decent quality, both sides of the line must be comprehensible.
3 - The calls must last at least 1 minute.
4 - The calls must be to a business/telemarketer.

Reasoning behind the rules:
1 - Five call limit, so that people can focus on making quality calls instead of simply making a bunch of crappy ones.
2 - Incomprehensible calls are useless, as no one will understand anything. Editing the calls to make them sound better is encouraged.
3 - Part of a good prankster is keeping the caller on for a long time. Longer calls will have an edge in voting stage.
4 - Prank calls to regular folks at residential lines are great, but not during prank call contests as they can be easily staged. A business call can also be staged, but it will hopefully make it more difficult to stage the call. Please do not make fake calls.

Winner gets a premium account!
2nd and 3rd Runners up get their pranks hosted on the soundboard!
The soundboard will be officially released for everyone after the contest is over!

The deadlines will be set after we get users entered into the contests. Post in here to officially enter the contest. Once soundboard is sent to contestants, all resulting calls should be uploaded and sent to me via PM. All the calls will be posted together in the voting thread. Again, post in this thread to enter the contest! The soundboard will be sent to everyone at the same time.

I still haven't perfected it myself, but I've seen some people pull of soundboard calls with Skype without the echos. Here is a thread I recently reposted by another user, explaining how to do it without echoes...

Just some advice, start practicing some calls with other soundboards and get your recording set up, so you can be ready to go. Good to see you join and give it a shot. :)

I was on both most of the day. Good to see you enter though. That's 6 people so far. I'll leave registration open for a little while longer before we start this thing.

I'll be sending out the soundboard to everyone tonight. Expect to have it in your PM boxes between 10 p.m. - 12 p.m. (est. u.s.) That is about 6 hours and 8 hours from now. Once the soundboards are sent out, you can no longer enter the contest. The deadline to submit calls will be determined later, but you will have at least 5 days to make and record calls. I might make the deadline longer though.

Reminder to those who have entered so far, prepare your recording set up and be ready. Upon recording the calls, do not post them on the forums or anywhere else. The calls should preferably uploaded to zshare.net, as they have an easy download button. Also, the soundboards should not be posted anywhere online, until the final release. Other then that, we wait for any new members to enter the contest.

You can use Power Gramo (http://www.powergramo.com) or AV Voice Changer Diamond (has a recorder) (http://www.audio4fun.com/voice-changer.htm). In order to set up your suondboard to play through your pc, you need to change the settings in the sound control panel, which is located in the taskbar. Go to Options...Properties...Recording and adjust the "stereo mix" setting or the "what u hear" setting, this will cause Skype to play what you hear on the pc as if it were played through a mic. The problem that occurs most often with this, is reverg aka "echoes" of the caller going back to them. The traditional way to record soundboard calls, is to use your phone's speaker phone option and play the soundboard on your computer's speaker and simply record with tape recorder or your pc's recorder.

Here a couple videos of soundboard calls being recorded. It's a little ghetto, but it gets the job done. All you need is to get the audio from both ends and edit the calls to adjust the volume, remove some noise and it should be fine.

For those who got the soundboard, there are more buttons than immediately appear on it. There are small links that say "more" in between some of the buttons, click on these to get more buttons to use. Also, the images, when clicked on, reveal more buttons as well. Citronic has created another fine board with this one.

It's a little too late. I'd allow as many people to enter and that is what I wanted, so I had to create a registration deadline and stick by it.

The deadline for the submissions has been extended until Tuesday night of next week. The deadline for entering the contest has been removed as well and if you would like to participate, PM me and the board will be sent to you. The sooner you enter, the more time you will have to make calls.

Note: Premium just got a little better, with custom made signatures.

I knew it could be staged, so I tried to implemented a rule that would hopefully make it a little more difficult. I know it still can be staged easily, just hoping people try to make real calls instead of staged ones. I'm sending the board to you anyway, hopefully you will partake in the contest.

That call is not being used in the contest. I got 3 calls without it, so someone is going to premium and the runner ups will have their calls on the soundboard.

It seems most people are had that problem.

My recommendation is to get voice changer diamond 4, as that has a recorder that works with skype. The quality is 100x better than powergramo. Uninstall and completely remove all powergramo folders and simply install voice changer diamond.

The submitted calls will be posted shortly, with the winner announced. There isn't going to be a voting thread.
