The female anchor had this look like "This isn't happening, pay no attention to that man behind the curtain". The guy in the field obviously thought they were taping it for later airing.:ahhh:

They recorded the segment ahead of time to air during the live broadcast, but some numbnuts played one of the outtakes instead of the good one. You can tell because the footage jumps right to him at a later time doing the "3, 2, 1..." countdown before starting another take.

The anchors never said he was "live" on the scene, so they didn't lie, but they wanted the viewer to assume he was.
