The Beatles rock man. I know they changed my music listening experience, before I listened to my mothers Beatles cd I didnt listen to music at all hardly. Now music is like a hardcore part of my life...mostly Metallica and Pink Floyd though. Sometimes I'll go and pull The White Album out every once and a while though.

The Beatles inspired Nirvana's Kurt Cobain. Without the Beatles Cobain probably wouldnt have even been inspired to play. I say that jdust629 shuts his shithole. You know not a thing about music if you think be beatles suck. We all know(except you) that the Beatles were one of the best bands of all time.

Compared to what?

Beatles might not have been that great during the Early years but latter on they kicked Ass.

Yea, if it wasn't for them there would be no other experimental bands like pink floyd (witch is one of the greatest bands also, but not as good as the beatles INO)

The Baetles are a good band and they influenced Nirvana. That makes them great in my opinion.

The Beatles are music. Without them, there wouldn't be anything near the stuff we have today.

The other day, I was talking to my mom about the Beatles, and I realized that you can't classify them as a certain "type" of music...they just are. The talent they have/had for writing and performing music is still, to this day, unmatched.

Another thing I thought about the Beatles (this is just my opinion.) I find that they have written the greatest love song of all time. "When I'm 64" is a song truly about love. It's about the life long companionship that real love entails, not like the throwaway marriages today...It's really about what every one dreams of in their life...

Sorry to get touchy feely, their music really means something to me on a different level.

What the fuck are you talking about? I've read a lot of ignorant shit on this forum, but this takes the cake. You find me one band or artist that hasn't been influenced by The Beatles in some way (not counting bands before The Beatles). You can't, because they don't exsist. They are without a doubt the most influential band ever.

EDIT: Paul wrote When I'm 64 for his father. It's not a love song.

Upon further review...Oopy has told me "When I'm 64" isn't a love song (at least not a marriage song.) Paul wrote it for his father...

I still feel as though it is a love song, based on the lyrics...What a great tune...the clarinet part is so simple but amazing.

Edit: Oopy and I have agreed that the lyrics illude to a woman, with "valentine's day" and "knit a sweater..."

I still like it as a life-long love song.

And even if it was about Paul's father, it still expresses his undying love and devotion to him.
